5 stars â Decadent, elegant, and absolutely worth the indulgence
LeTAO Sydney is a must-visit for anyone with a love for fine desserts and beautifully crafted sweets. Known internationally for their signature double fromage cheesecake, the Sydney outpost lives up to the global reputation and then some. The moment you walk in, youâre greeted by an atmosphere that feels both refined and welcomingâclean lines, soft lighting, and displays that make every dessert look like a work of art.
I visited out of curiosity and left completely impressed. The staff were warm and knowledgeable, happy to explain the different offerings and recommend favourites. I tried the iconic double fromage cheesecake, and it was genuinely one of the best desserts Iâve had in Sydneyâlight, creamy, delicately sweet, and perfectly balanced. It somehow manages to be rich without being heavy, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture thatâs hard to forget.
They also offer a range of other beautifully presented cakes, chocolates, and soft serveâall made with high-quality ingredients and precision. You can tell thereâs real craftsmanship behind everything. The Hokkaido milk used in many of the items gives them a unique, luxurious finish that sets them apart from your typical patisserie or dessert spot.
The packaging is also worth notingâwhether youâre buying a gift or taking something home for later, itâs presented with care and elegance. Itâs clear that LeTAO isnât just about flavourâitâs about creating a complete, thoughtful experience.
Perfect for a treat-yourself moment, a post-dinner dessert stop, or as a special gift for someone who appreciates fine sweets. LeTAO brings a touch of Hokkaido to Sydney in the best possible way. Iâll definitely be returningâand bringing friends with...

Read moreI managed to visit this store recently, after the initial hype had subsided somewhat, or I just happened to arrive at a particularly quiet time. The shop, which is more of a showroom, features a minimalist design aesthetic with muted grey tones. On display are life-sized models of the various cheesecakes, tarts, and other desserts that are on offer. From memory, a staff member takes your order on a tablet device, and another staff member in an area at the back of the showroom prepares it. Both of the staff members I interacted with were friendly.
I ordered a soft-serve in a cone, which I consumed immediately after leaving the store (of course), and two custard tarts and a Fromage Double cheesecake to take home. The take home items were placed inside a rather elegant bag made from thick paper. Prices were towards the higher end, with the tarts at $6 each and the cheesecake costing $39.99.
I arrived home around two hours later, the cheesecake was still in a semi-frozen state. My partner and I both enjoyed the tarts and the cheesecake, she said that it was the best cheesecake she had ever tried. I agreed, the various layers and textures were delightful, as was the taste. So, does an approximately 14cm Ă 4cm cheesecake represent good value at $39.99 ? Ultimately, you must judge that for yourself, just know that I'm already planning another visit to LeTao....
