I wanna give this place a 3.5 but I can't. I got the Mortadella 2.0 and it's totally worth trying once for $20, but the price may be a little steep for some. I'm left feeling slightly full but also still a bit hungry.
It's decent and while the flavours really hit when they do the problem is the pistachio and Stracciatella, which is really the star of the show.. when paired with everything else exists to one side and since its so packed you only get the flavours every second bite. So while it has a lot to like, it's inconsistent and some of the flavours get lost in the shuffle and don't stand out enough.
At this price point for what is essentially some nice fillings on a Woodfired pizza crust, which is the main selling point,i don't fully think I'd pay $20 for it again, just due to the inconsistent nature of the sandwich. I'm not saying $20 is expensive for something like this at all either, I'm just saying you're not getting it's full value for lack of consistency.
But you might find better consistency when you try it or on other sandwiches. I might come back for others with friends but it's not something I'm screaming out to my friends to try...
Read moreTried the Ozzo, which is folded flatbread with toppings—somewhere between a pizza and a sandwich. Can I call it a sandwich? Maybe, maybe not. But honestly, I’ll let it slide.
I went for one of their specials, which was rocking a Korean theme this week: the Beef Bulgogi Ozzo. And wow, it was packed with flavour. Adding chilli oil was a top-notch choice—it definitely cranked things up a level! It’s been forever since I’ve had a proper pizza, and this flatbread reminded me how much I’ve missed it. Tasty, chewy, and light—it ticks all the boxes. The filling was so good. Worked way better with the bread than I expected. Only thing was the kimchi and radish juice dripping down my hand at first, but after a quick fix, I was back to enjoying it.
Loved the shiso leaves and pickles—they pulled all the flavours together. Honestly, I didn’t want this sandwich(?) to end....
Read moreUm, WOW. If you're in Sydney, get your butt to Ozzo before everyone else discovers it too. A couple of weeks ago I tried them for the first time, and my Ozzo (pictured) was so delicious that I came back for more yesterday. The dough is incredible - 48 hour fermented, which somehow leaves me feeling light and satisfied, not bloated and heavy. I am actually gluten intolerant but I make exceptions sometimes and just deal with the consequences, but both times after eating this dough I've had none of the usual symptoms I get from eating gluten. Beyond the dough, the fillings and toppings are super fresh, tasty and high quality. The tomato sauce tastes like it took your Nonna 3 days to make, but the owner informed me it is actually made from raw crushed tomatoes. It's quite amazing. I love this place and hope it stays open for many years to come - it's food worth...
