Stepping into Fatima’s you’re instantly transported to a place where food is more than a meal – it’s an experience. The atmosphere is that of an Arabian lounge with woven wall tapestries adorning the dining room and Lebanese music setting the mood. Just as you get comfortable the fragrances of fresh food being prepared reach your senses. Straight from the grill to your plate. The food here is simply succulent. Every bite bursts with flavour, from the perfectly spiced meat, tender and juicy to the fresh tabouli that complement them beautifully. The hummus is impossibly smooth, the falafel crisp on the outside and soft inside and the grilled chicken melts in your mouth like butter. You can taste the care, tradition, and passion in every bite. The vegetarian options were a nice addition, Arnabit(cauliflower),Mojadara(lentils) and Loobyeh(beans) just like mums. What I love most is that Fatima’s wall of fame. A photographic mural of all those impressed before me. You know its good when all those famous faces are staring at you while you wait to be seated I’ve seen a few negative reviews floating around, and honestly, they just don’t reflect the reality. Perhaps those people came in with the wrong expectations, because my experience – and that of many others – has been nothing short of outstanding. If you want food that’s rich in flavour, cooked with heart and served in a place that makes you feel at home, Fatima’s in Surry Hills is an absolute must. I’ll be back again (and again). How to get there - Heading to Fatimas - just get off the tram and a short stroll thru the park to Cleveland St and it’s just around the corner.

We came to eat dinner last night after a show and were appalled at the quality of th food. The garlic potato - i thought would be batata harra was cold and with so much lemon/lemon salt/ vinegar was inedible also cold. The arnabeet had a hair inside.Hummus runny and overly acidic. The Bangladeshi chef said that this is the standard.. expected by customers who want food with more lemon. Lemon garlic and sumac are the hallmarks of lebanese food sure but there was no sumac even on the shish tawook. There were 3 chefs with 30 years experience each on our table. Ive worked in the Middle east for 5 years and cooked and eaten Lebanese food hundreds of times. But i will not return to this place ever. The toum was not smooth . The fatayer sabanek also suffered from being too acidic..horrible experience for our table of 10. We did settle the bill in full at the end of our meal but refused to pay for the potato only- which was served cold in the beginning ( microwaved only). Yes for sure a table of 10 at closing time can be challenging to serve quickly But we were not after quick but tasty food which was not the case.

It’s 6AM, I just woke up feeling courage to stand up for what’s right and speak out in my life from now on. Not really, just kidding... this place is so bad that the first thing I had to do when I wake up is write a review about it. Jesus where to begin! I ate Lebanese food almost every day and now am 30... this food is so bad that I rate it worst Lebanese I’ve had my entire life.. can you imagine! It’s not even 100 Lebanese maybe because everyone that’s working there is Indian and also looks like they’re getting paid cash in hand and not much which made me tip heaps... and I didn’t want to tip because the food was so expensive, so bad, so confusing and maybe even not clean and old that I had to go this length in my review. Am gonna open a resturant next door and with my basic Lebanese cooking skills and paid fake reviews ad these guys are doing, am gonna attract even more surry hills hipsters that can’t even taste.... here’s a photo inside where we’re pretending to be happy.

To the team and proprietors,

Allow me to express my observations regarding the recent experience. While acknowledging that Uber Eats delivery times can occasionally be tardy, it is imperative to highlight a significant issue encountered during my recent order. Specifically, the lack of separation in packaging for hot and cold dishes and beverages led to a lamentable outcome. Regrettably, upon arrival, I found that a considerable portion of my order, totaling $59 in cost, had been rendered disappointingly cold when it ought to have been served piping hot.

One dish in particular, the lamb wraps priced at $14 with additional add-ons amounting to a total of $18, did not meet the expectations one would associate with such an establishment. The serving size was notably tiny, akin to the proportions of a $7 breakfast wrap from a well-known fast-food chain. Moreover, the temperature of the lamb wraps was far from satisfactory, as they arrived cold. Furthermore, the unevenly cut chunks of lamb within the wraps posed a challenge to the palate due to their excessive chewiness.

In the pursuit of culinary excellence, I believe it is essential to ensure that each aspect of the dining experience meets the standards expected by discerning patrons. I trust that these remarks are received in the spirit of constructive feedback, with the hope that they contribute to the enhancement of the overall dining experience at your establishment.

However, I must express a concern that has arisen after reading your reviews going back two years. It appears that you have consistently received feedback on various review platforms without evident improvements. This raises doubts about your commitment to enhancing your establishment's offerings. In light of this, I must question why both visitors and locals should continue to support your establishment if there is no demonstrable intent to evolve and refine.

Regards,

The man who spent $59 on food, felt hungry and sad. Home made Oats and berries came to the rescue,...

5 stars does not do it justice!

We had the absolute pleasure of having lunch today at Fatima’s Lebanese Restaurant on Cleveland Street, Sydney with my team and it was an experience we’ll all be talking about for a long time!

From the moment we walked in Abraham and his team made us feel completely at home.

The hospitality was warm, genuine, and incredibly efficient even with such a large group! Everything was smooth, quick and handled with care.

Drinks were topped up plates cleared promptly and every request was met with a smile.

The service had that perfect balance of professional but also friendly which made the feed feel personal and welcoming.

The food absolutely incredible!

Every dish was full of flavor, fresh and beautifully presented.

We ordered a wide selection to share and not a single plate disappointed!

The dips were creamy and rich the falafel crisp on the outside and soft inside and the grilled meats tender, juicy and absolute perfection!

The fresh bread came out hot and paired perfectly with everything.

Even with such a big group, the food arrived quickly and hot with consistently delicious across all dishes.

What stood out most was how much care was put into the food it wasn’t just tasty,it felt authentic home-style, and cooked with passion.

Portion sizes were generous and everyone left full and happy but still talking about their favourite dishes on the way out.

For a team lunch Fatima’s was the perfect choice. Quick service, amazing food, and genuine hospitality it ticked all the boxes!

Abraham and his staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful evening, and they absolutely succeeded.

Highly recommend Fatima’s for anyone whether you’re going with family, friends or a big group like ours.

Thank you and we can’t wait...
