Today, I’m very disappointed with the staff here. I went to this place with a friend and bought drinks here and thought I had dropped my Opal card there. So I came back to ask. There were two staff at the cashier, so I asked nicely one of them if they had seen it or if anyone might have handed it in becasue I just wanted to double check if I accidentally dropped it here. The girl immediately said “No.” Then I noticed an Opal card sitting on the glass shelf next to the cashier. I checked the number on the card with the one registered on my Opal app, and it was exactly the same. I asked her again if she could check for me, but she still said, “This is not your card, this card was from a few days ago.” I showed her my app with the matching numbers, and only then she said, “If you want, you can take it.” But that card was actually my card, not like if I want I can take it. I was grateful to find it, but the staff’s attitude made me feel disappointed. She wasn’t honest or helpful, and at the very least, she should have checked with another staff member in case she actually didn’t know about the card. She even did not check and just said “No”. If I hadn’t double-checked the number myself, I would have lost my card because of her carelessness. I will never...
Read moreI’ve been here before to get Mudslide Mochas, which are usually pretty good. The quality always varies with the drink, but it’s come to be something I expect. Dropped in this morning because I saw they had a $5 sandwiches/pies/quiches sign. There was only one vegetarian option, which was the Feta and Spinach roll. I’ve had it before at the Market City Gloria Jeans and it was nice and crispy. Yesterday I got one from the George St shop and it was horrible. It was so chewy and I can only assume it had been sitting in the display for multiple days. The server heated it up, first in the microwave and secondly in the portable oven. It just ended up being so chewy, tasteless and simultaneously scorching enough to have burnt off my tastebuds. Couldn’t even bring myself to finish it off, even with my...

Thinking of Gloria Jean's brings a premium and branded feeling into the mind. Of course, I was expecting a great deal of service, serving crockery and food quality.
Most of the tables were not wiped off after the last person had left - still had crumbs left on the tables.
The plate I was served banana bread in had an edge chipped off. The local coffee shop, which is not even a brand wouldn't even use that crockery for serving (see photo for reference).
No serviettes/napkins were served - had to get up and grab couple from them.
No issues with the food, hence 2 stars. Wasn't very special but I didn't find...
