This rating is based on the customer service of this restaurant. We walked pass and see poster in front of this restaurant, pictures of food look nice but a bit pricy (eg. Salt& pepper prawn $29, Prawn with Salt egg $32) so we all agree to come back for lunch. Back around 1 pm, restaurant was filled, people line up everywhere but not in 1 line, so I decided to ask staff there, she is a young tiny Chinese, if this was the line to wait. She said "We are very full, you see" and when I ask, how do you want us to wait , she gave us a ticket and when I ask how long for waiting time, she nearly yelled at us and said, "I don't know, how do I know? ...I don't know how long people eat"

So Service Marketing 101, if you want to try rude Customer service, Visit "Lilong by Taste of Shanghai", you will experience one. 😁

Glad we didn't eat here after reading other comments about food...

We ventured out into the cold & rain to have dinner last night (Saturday) & the restaurant was packed so luckily we had booked ahead online. We enjoyed two dishes which were the duck egg yolk prawns & the pork belly with quail eggs (served on a base of steamed baby bok choy ) & both dishes were delicious. Service was pleasant & warm so I am not sure what the complaints about this particular aspect seemed to be in many of the past reviews. Perhaps the restaurant has learned from the comments & have "picked up their game", so to speak. Either way, we were pleasantly satiated & happy with our dining experience. We will definitely return to dine there & that could even be for lunch today (as I eyed some of their buns on many of the tables last night). I don't often return to a restaurant the day after I have eaten there previously so this says something...

I do not recommend this restaurant at all. We waited over half an hour for our food, and nothing arrived. When we asked the waitress about the delay, her attitude was extremely impatient. She immediately responded that the kitchen had been urged and claimed, “We’re not serving pre-made food; everything is freshly cooked.” However, another customer at a nearby table asked about his orders as well. He told the waitress that he had been waiting for one hour. The waitress just used the same excuses and said that they got too many delivery orders. I used to work in the restaurant as well. Honestly, this is unacceptable. If they can’t handle both dine-in and delivery customers, they shouldn’t take on more than they can handle. The lack of organization, rude service, and endless waiting time ruined the entire experience. Save yourself the frustration and go...

Always enjoy coming here for lunch, I was disappointed though when I ordered the Kung Pao chicken and expected it to be fried and when it arrived only to be stir fried, I asked the waitress why it didn't match the picture and she politely pointed at the disclaimer on the menu where pictures may not match the product. Don't get me wrong I understand pictures don't match the product but when it is Fried in a picture and It came out stir fried it was pretty disappointing, especially when I have been to many of your various locations and not had this experience. I still gave a good rating because the Pork Belly and squid were great but I do think you need to re-consider updating some images on your menu if you have no intentions of cooking the food how it is presented.

Casual Shanghai Chinese dinning in the heart of Hornsby. We went for a midweek night out for the first time. I've been to the more upmarket version in Chatswood dining quarter. This restaurant is perfect for casual dinners and lunches. There's a large selection of dishes to choose from and quite a few specials. The prawn and chive dumplings and the vegetarian spring rolls were really good. My wife said her vegetarian stew was a bit average but I thought it was pretty good. My prawn and 'Eal' was sweet and delicious although I wasn't really sure what I was eating. The service was warm and friendly and our meals arrived promptly. I'll definitely go back.

I waited for my dishes for 40 mins. While I was waiting, I found out the restaurant was focusing on serving take aways customers than dine-in customers. The table next to us, 4 western guys who also recieved their meal late. An old lady staff(prob owner?) was very friendly to them and apologised them and gave free beers to them. She never came to our table to say apology or offer free drinks. That's fine because I don't drink beer. But when I paid, she was very unpleasant and throwing the receipt to me. Why is the attitude so different depending on customers? Will never go back.
