After reading about what sounded like a fun and exciting menu, my husband and I booked Ms G's for my birthday dinner. I couldn't wait to try the Cheeseburger spring rolls and 'Strange flavour' burrata which I had heard so much about! We had the option of having the banquet menu at $88 per head (extra add ons for an additional cost) but in the end opted on choosing our own dishes.

We started with the highly anticipated Cheeseburger spring roll followed by Mini bánh mì-Lemongrass & chicken katsu. All I can say is YUM and flavour OMG, so much flavour! The spring roll actually tasted like I was biting into a cheeseburger full of goey cheesy goodness. It's a must. This was followed by the Mini bánh mi which was also very tasty and full of flavour. It was crunchy, salty and sweet all in one.

At this point we were very happy and super excited to try the rest of our dishes. Not long after our starters came the Kingfish-aged ponzu, kombu, chives. The kingfish was sliced perfectly and presented beautifully on a plate with a generous amount of aged ponzu. It was light and perfectly balanced, so much so that I wanted to just pick up the plate and drink the left overs.

Next on the menu was 'Strange Flavour' burrata accompanied with (for an extra $10) Matt's light, fluffy and yummy warm bread. Recommend! The burrata was beautifully fresh, soft and goey when sliced into. However the game changer was the sesame sauce with chilli oil, spinach & peanuts that it was swimming in. I couldn't get enough of Matt's bread which I scooped up the burrata and chili oily goodness, DELICIOUS!

Lastly to finish off our evening we had Jow's Sweet & Sour Lamb Ribs - lemongrass, black vinegar, lime with steamed rice. These are a must have! The lamb ribs were sticky, sweet and salty. They were cooked beautifully and pulled nicely of the bone. I recommend ordering rice to go with them, its a nice little added extra to help soak up all that delicious sauce.

By the end of the evening we were so full but...

Starting on a positive note, the food here is wonderful, I have been here countless times. The most delicious and interesting flavours that never cease to delight. However, there are two serious problems that management needs to address, or I likely won't be returning.

Firstly, I have noticed that the kitchen short-changes groups ordering the set menu. When I dine in as a couple, we get one burrata to share between 2. That's reasonable, though it would be nice to have one apiece. When we go as a group of 4, unbelievably, they have the audacity to still serve one burrata to share between 4! After paying $72 more per head, all we get is more of the cheaper dishes such as fried rice and greens. An insulting way to cheat guests who otherwise happily paid for a $500 bill. This cheapness really disappointed us.

Secondly, the wait staff are wonderfully friendly, patient, and warm. However, I have to say that there have been glaring mistakes that disrupt our meal almost every single visit. Two visits ago, a fish dish was served to us despite having specified three times that we are vegetarian (in the booking, upon arrival, and upon ordering the vegetarian set menu). My partner actually took a bite before spitting the fish out - they apologised, but no discounts. Last visit, for a birthday dinner, they forgot to serve dessert and left us waiting at the table for 25 minutes before actually asking us to leave. We had to remind them that our two final courses hadn't been served - again they apologised, served dessert, but no discount.

We like the food here very much, but the clumsiness of their wait staff and their stinginess with group bookings has left a bad taste in my mouth. I really hope that Ms. G's fixes these issues, or I won't be returning or recommending this...

4.5/5 ⭐️

We were looking for a restaurant and cocktail bar where we could enjoy drinks, good food and a good vibe on a Saturday night and Ms G’s delivered! They’ve got a DJ, music pumping and a great bar. Their menu is fairly large so we struggled to narrow it down but the waiter (btw - THE funniest waiter) helped us out by recommending the most popular dishes. He also offered us “mystery cocktails” ie. in he chose some for us and he did a great job because we enjoyed all of them!

🍔 Cheeseburger Spring Rolls - WOW. These were highly recommended by several people and I’m glad we tried them. They tasted EXACTLY like a Maccas cheeseburger, I was mind-blown. I couldn’t eat more than one but man were they good.

🐟 Kingfish - Another winner. My sister who doesn’t like raw fish tried this and loved it. The fish was incredibly fresh and the ponzu sauce elevated it. It legit tasted like chicken, it was so so good. This is a must-order.

🥟 Pan Fried Gyoza - The crepe was so thin and delicate, all it needed was a slight tap of the fork and it broke apart. The gyoza were packed with flavour on the inside as well as the outside with chilli and vinegar.

🦐 BBQ King Prawns - Loved the shrimp paste brown butter that covered the prawns. The flesh of the prawns were silky and the paste made it all the more hearty.

🍗 Fried Chicken - This is the only dish I didn’t enjoy. The chicken was saturated in the sweet soy glaze that overpowered and became unpleasant, it was too salty. The daikon helped to balance it out but it wasn’t enough as it was way too rich.

Highly recommend a visit to Ms G’s if you’re from Sydney or you’re planning a trip! It’s got great music, the best waiters, and delicious food. Definitely book...

Ms G’s – King Prawn Chow Mein Edition 🦐🍜 🍴 I’m a big Dan Hong fan and Ms G’s has always been one of my go-to spots when I want food that’s fun, bold and a little bit cheeky. When I saw the King Prawn Chow Mein with salted egg butter sauce, crispy legs and crispy noodles on the specials board, I knew I had to go back for it. 🎎 Still the same moody, eclectic fit-out – like stepping into a neon-lit Asian diner with attitude. The energy is always high, the music’s vibey, and the shared-table buzz adds to the fun. It feels like a night out even if you’re only there for a meal. 🤝 Staff were upbeat and knew their stuff, hyping up the special like it was the main event (which it was). We were seated quickly despite the place being packed – they’ve got the high-volume service nailed without losing the charm. 🍹 I had the Yuzu Slushie (again – I can’t not) and it was as refreshing and zingy as always. Sharp citrus, just the right amount of sweet, and perfect with rich dishes like the chow mein. 🦐 The King Prawn Chow Mein was insane. The salted egg butter sauce was rich, salty and glossy – coating the noodles like liquid gold. The prawns were plump and juicy, sitting on top like little kings, and the crispy legs added this epic crunch. The nest of crispy noodles underneath stayed perfectly textured, soaking up just enough sauce without going soggy. Wildly good. 📸 This needs to be a permanent item. If it’s still on when you go – don’t even think about it, just order it. Ms G’s proves (again) why Dan Hong is the master of flavour bombs that somehow make total sense. 🙏 Thanks for another unforgettable meal, Ms G’s. Already planning the next visit.
