Read moreThis café offers seriously good coffee in a stylish, minimalist setting. Arriving a few minutes before their 8:30 AM opening, we found ourselves among a growing line of eager customers.
While the service was a bit slow, the sunlit tables and laid-back vibes made the wait enjoyable. However, there was a mix-up with our order. We initially received a cold matcha latte instead of the hot one we requested. Although we were told we could keep the cold drink, another staff member later took it back when delivering the replacement. This situation felt awkward, especially since it stemmed from their error. Additionally, after ordering two drinks, we were informed the signature drink we wanted wasn’t available, leaving the impression they were encouraging us to buy another. While this didn’t ruin the experience, it’s an area where service could improve to avoid making customers feel uneasy. That said, the staff were otherwise friendly and pleasant.
On the food front, we tried two cheese toasties: the black garlic cheese toastie ($14) and the Korean-style pork belly toastie ($22). Both were hearty, well-constructed, and satisfying. Despite the hiccup, this café is a lovely spot to start your day. If only they...
Read moreIt was not what I expected. The reviews and photos led me to believe it was kind of fancy, and bigger than it is. Two tables inside and that weird stepped seating area, with a couple of tables outside. A bit frustrating that even the stair seats were being used by a small group who were clearly finished their coffees, yet sat talking for another 20 minutes. I saw three people poke their heads in and walk away as this group were taking up the last indoor seating area. Outside was similar, with a student and his tutor doing their study/lessons on a laptop. The one coffee cup was empty when we arrived, and this pair did not order anything else. Yes some customers are rude, but can't the staff ask them to move on? The food was ok. Reuben sandwich was tasty, but slow to arrive. I was curious and confused about the coffee. There were some that were $14, and others for $5. I didnt understand, or it was not clear why the prices were high. If its a rare or special coffee, great i would have tired. But.. i wasnt sure and would have felt silly/cheap asking why those coffees were more expensive. Is it prepared differently, do i still order as a latte or cappuccino?? It wasnt clear, so...
