Once a hole in the wall strictly serving coffee and a few sweets, Ristretto & Co. has evolved into a café hotspot for locals in Sydney’s South-West on Northumberland Street Liverpool. A small walkway through the cafe’s busy kitchen takes you out to a quaint, rustic style courtyard to sit, relax and enjoy a coffee & brunch with friends to escape the busyness of the world outside. Ristretto & Co. is a local favourite, renowned for its seamless Campos coffee and menu offering a wide all day breakfast menu. We chose a couple of favourites and were recommended to try the waffles - every instagrammers dream! We enjoyed corn and zucchini fritters with aioli, avocado salsa and a poached egg, which had a lovely crunch, yet were still light and fluffy on the inside. The serving was very generous so despite being full, was hard to resist finishing. We also had the smashed avo (with a side of bacon) just to lighten things up which was nice and fresh with the hint of lemon. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we tried some waffles served with vanilla gelato, shredded coconut, salted caramel sauce, fresh berries, maple syrup & Persian pashmak! The presentation of this dish was beautiful with the popping colours of the berries atop the glistening maple syrup and the delicate pashmak on the top. It was hard to pull this one apart! Although this was very sweet, the flavours and textures worked well together and left us very satisfied. We thoroughly recommend visiting Ristretto for an amazing breakfast/brunch.

Perfect little cafe, discovered this place quite by accident. Service was terrific, lovely, friendly staff. The coffee was out of this world, they have a standard roast, as well as single origin coffee of the month and signature blends on offer. You can grab a quick take away, or dine in in the cozy courtyard. It is beautifully decorated in rustic charm, there are flowers, and blankets for your lap if it's chilly. The music was excellent, a great playlist, and not too loud (which usually drives me crazy). I didn't have to put on my noise cancelling headphones that are my usual go to in cafes, pubs and restaurants. Or shout just to have a conversation. Chilled water is provided on arrival without you having to ask for it. If you order a soft drink it is served with a glass full of ice. The food was just perfectly cooked. I had the Scotch fillet soft shell tacos which were juicy tender and flavourful with generous amounts of salad and chipotle sauce. The only thing that could have made my visit better would have been if I could have ordered a nice cold IPA to go with my lunch. Highly recommended please pay this place to visit and support a great local business!

Disappointing Breakfast. Really liked this place and have I. The past had good service and quality of food. This time left disappointed and with a bad taste in my mouth. Ordered eggs Benedict and a big breakfast with poached eggs both plates came with a hard boiled eggs on toast 👎. Told the waiter (big guy in backward red baseball cap) that the eggs weren’t up to scratch, he offered to bring a side of poached eggs..... waited ...nothing, finished up meal went to pay and mentioned it again, apologies and asked if I got the extra eggs said no. Said sorry again and said would take eggs off the bill, rung up the order I paid, and looked at the receipt, nothing off the bill, questioned it and he said took the extra poached eggs off the order. Said didn’t order extra eggs they were to replace the bad ones. Anyway won’t be back, interested to see if the owner replies to see if they care about their customers.

Ristretto and Co. is a local fave on Northumberland Rd in Liverpool. The cafe recently changed hands but the new owner has maintained the cafe's much loved rustic look, and added a cool new mural which is painted on the “food truck” kitchen at the end of the courtyard.

Ristretto and Co. serve Campos coffee and the food, like the decor, has a few hip inner west influences.

I called in for breakfast with a friend. We had the Quinoa Porridge , Eggs Benny and the Zucchini and Corn Fritters.

The quinoa porridge was a first for us. It has a light creamy texture and fresh fruit for sweetness. We loved it.

Eggs Benny includes two eggs on sourdough with bacon, silverbeet and a rich golden hollandaise sauce. Oddly enough, the hero of this dish was the silverbeet, its fresh earthy flavour compliments everything on the plate

Our Zucchini and Corn Fritters arrived stacked with rocket, avo and tomato and a soft poached egg. Presentation was on point and they tasted delicious.

Ristretto and Co. also has a hole in the wall coffee window at the entrance where you can grab your Campos on the go. Its pretty popular with the locals and there is often a queue, especially on...
