We often find that shopping centre cafes are always packed. We never quite understand this, for often these sorts of cafes have fairly run of the meal menus, and rather they’re popular since we all need that pick me up when we’re shopped out. However, Vine and Grind does a much more than this. It feels homely, the menu is indulgent and creative and somewhere you’d intend to visit for these reasons, not just because you’re passing by.
The cafe can be found outside BIG W in Westfield Liverpool and its contemporary light hues and floral theming is complete with walls of flowers, leather banquette seating and it is certainly spacious. It’s very popular so book ahead or put your name down, receiving a text to get your table secured. Order at the counter and food is brought to you.
Their all day menu features popular breakfast and brunch classics with a mediterranean, middle eastern and Asian influences. From a tiramisu French to toast to a yuzu hollandaise Benedict, there’s plenty great variety. You can order a larger meal, side, pastries or a combination of all. We loved their yuzu hollandaise Benedict on two slices of toast, complete with potato gems. The yuzu flavour nicely shone through.
We loved their wagyu cheeseburger, a big patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato and sauce. It comes with a small side of seasoned fries.
Their truffle club sandwich was more of a regular sandwich, a flatter style, the rye bread filled with a crispy schnitzel, lettuce, tomato, Mayo and drizzled with shaved pecorino. The truffle flavour shone brightly through. You can also add bacon and a side, we opted for sweet potato fries.
The kid menu is extensive and they also have colouring in activities for the kiddies.
There is specialty coffee on the menu; Vine and Grind use one of our favourites; ONA. We enjoyed a piccolo and an iced latte. In addition to coffees, there’s also smoothies, shakes and juices. We always enjoy their green machine juice, made with green apple, kale, celery and mint. Despite how healthy it is, it tastes good too!
We revisited and had their amazing avo on toast and lamb pita! Thoroughly recommended

I recently had the pleasure of visiting for breakfast, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The menu boasted a wide variety of mouthwatering options, but I couldn't resist trying their signature dishes featuring poached free range eggs, Sonoma sourdough, and an array of delectable ingredients.
For my first choice, I opted for the Poached Free Range Eggs with a delightful combination of flavors. The eggs were perfectly poached, with a velvety texture that oozed with flavor. The Sonoma sourdough was toasted to perfection, providing a satisfying crunch. The sujuk sausage and Blackforest bacon added a savory and smoky element, while the roasted eggplant brought a delightful depth to the dish. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the muhamarra (capsicum) + Persian feta added a tangy and creamy element that perfectly complemented the other ingredients. The whipped labneh brought a smooth and creamy texture to the plate, while the heirloom tomatoes and avocado provided a refreshing and vibrant touch. To top it all off, the tomato chili jam added a delightful kick that tied all the flavors together harmoniously.
For my second choice, I went for the Free Range Poached Eggs with herbed yuzu hollandaise. The eggs were once again poached to perfection, with a creamy and luscious yolk. The thick cut rye sourdough provided a hearty base for the dish, while the crispy potato hashies added a delightful crunch. The sautéed kale brought a healthy and earthy element to the plate, and the spiced brown butter elevated the flavors to a whole new level.
Overall, my experience was nothing short of exceptional. The attention to detail in each dish was evident, and the combination of flavors was truly outstanding. The ambiance of the cafe was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a breakfast haven that offers a wide range of delicious options, look no further than Vine and grind. I can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu!

Read moreAnyone concerned about Halal Beware, this place has no proper system in place to avoid cross contamination with bacon. I have been a regular at this place for nearly a year now and have confirmed on several occasions whether they cook their bacon on separate grill with a strong affirmation every time that they dont.
After coming back from travelling overseas for 2 months I have had my typical brunch order like always. I decided to have a look at their kitchen and see how they are managing the constant load of customers and was shocked to see their chef casually cooking bacon on the same grill as burger patties and other items, went to the counter to ask the lady if anything changed and they confirmed that bacon is cooked separately, when I told her what I just saw she appeared shocked and was very apologetic. She explained that the staff is new and did not know and was planning to have a meeting at the end of the day to address this issue. But is that a good enough excuse?
When you are running a business with possibly 50% or more of your customer base adhering to a very particular diet that strongly attaches to their values, you don't have stringent systems in place to enforce you are delivering on what you are telling your customers who trust you are doing the right thing? When new staff are hired, is this not an important enough point to handover to them before they start their work with you? How long has this issue been happening? How many new staff or old ones made this same mistake? Was it even considered to be important for you and actually adhered to from...
