Since the first minute we got to Tajima Yakiniku, we became fans of this place and and we’d recommend it to everybody. It was one of my first experiences in Japanese BBQ restaurants, and I’m very lucky it’s been there. What to start with when everything is so impressive? Service is amazing. Managers helped us to find the best table in a very busy time without reservation. We’ve been with a pram, which is always a challenging thing to manage in a restaurant, not to bother others. That’s what you think when you visit a new place for the first time. However, it wasn’t a problem for a staff and they found the best place for us, and we were happy it was super calm space and a nerve-saving option for other guests, so we felt ourselves very confident and comfortable. Personal used to help us with choosing the right positions from the menu, trying to understand our preferences. And did it great. The staff is very friendly. They’ve checked neatly if we are happy with everything every 3-5 minutes. They explained to us every step from A to Z so that we would get the maximum benefit from meat and be able to enjoy its taste to the fullest. Quality of food is blowing your mind. It was a spectacular experience with beautiful servings of a highest quality meat and vegetables, sauces and pickled veggies. Nothing to add here. Atmosphere in a restaurant is good. Elegant charming interior, cleanliness of every surface, highest etiquette. And one of the most important parts - people. You managed to gather in your team only the people who love their work and do it with a soul. It's worth a lot. You feel it when you walk into a restaurant. These people are open to be your friendly guide into the unforgettable journey of the world of new tastes and impressions, and will do everything possible to make you delighted with their hospitality and incredibly delicious food. We can’t wait to visit you again. Thank you for the greatest service. We love you restaurant. A thousand...
Read moreTajima Yakiniku in Sydney CBD delivers an excellent Japanese BBQ experience with its new halal-certified Lunch Set for Two. Priced at $98 (reduced from $147.5), this set offers remarkable value for the quality provided.
The highlight is the selection of premium Wagyu cuts: Wagyu Oyster Blade 2GR 9+, Premium Wagyu Karubi 9+, and Full Blood Wagyu Outside Skirt. Each cut is served fresh for grilling at the table, allowing diners to enjoy the natural marbling, tenderness, and depth of flavor that high-grade Wagyu is known for. The meat is exceptionally tender and practically melts in the mouth, with a rich, authentic taste that reflects the standard of premium Japanese beef.
Accompanying the meat are thoughtful side dishes — a comforting Wagyu soup, light and refreshing Namuru (Korean-style seasoned vegetables), and perfectly cooked Koshihikari steamed rice, which together create a balanced and satisfying meal.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is another strength. With its modern, sleek interiors and cozy layout, it provides both comfort and sophistication, making it ideal for business lunches, casual dining, or a special meal with friends and family.
Overall, Tajima Yakiniku stands out as one of the few places in Sydney offering a halal-certified Japanese BBQ experience without compromising on quality. The lunch set is not only a great introduction to premium Wagyu but also excellent value for money. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Japanese BBQ in the heart...
Read moreWe dined in on Friday and while the food and meat quality was delicious we were left disappointed by the service as well as the inclusions in the restaurant.
We ran into a few issues during our experience and probably wouldn’t be back here. Our experience suffered from the following: the waiter asked us if it’s our first time here and we said yes, after which we didn’t get any extra attention or recommendations to help us chose nobody offered us table water until we asked when we got the meat we had to buy a sauce platter because we didn’t know it wasn’t included, halfway through the wagyu platter one of the gentlemen noticed our sauce plates were empty and said that a special sauce is included - why did nobody tell us before? So we enjoyed half of the wagyu platter with no sauce… this leads into my next and most frustrating point that NO sides are included, not even anything basic like a radish or something considering the price of the meat. Every side was at least $5-$10 which was highly unreasonable and they were very small portions other than the lettuce. in addition to missing sauce the table doesn’t have any salt or dips to offer which felt a bit empty the restaurant closed very early at 9 on a Friday night and there was no atmosphere after 7:30 as people were already leaving
The lack of sauce, overpriced sides and poorly attentive service has left us disappointed despite really enjoying the meat....
