Don't let the the nice Decor when you first walk in fool you, this is a 1 start bar! The drinks are poorly made and overpriced for what they are. The bathrooms are horrible and smell badly of urine. Worst of all the service is terrible and staff are actually insulting. Following already being underwhelmed by our drinks, one of the staff members had the audacity to accuse me of spiking my fiance's drink. After both of our objection to this absurd claim, he continued to ridicule my disability. This is simply not acceptable! I understand it's been hard for venues to retain good bar staff through COVID, but here it really shows! There are so many great little cocktail Bars in the area, don't waste your time here! Just down the road you'll find Stitch Bar, Baxter Inn or Uncle Mings for some sure bet locations.

From the entrance, might ask yourself “where’s the bar? It’s just a barbershop”. But behind the hidden door, there’s a very cool bar, stacked with gins from all over the world. The vintage decor, the classic pieces of furniture, the amber lights, and the music, can take you back to the past. What should I order? Well, gin, of course, since it’s the speciality. But if you fancy a beer or a glass of wine, I’m not here to judge. The service is always attentive and friendly. What’s more? You’ll find the Japanese style eco-friendly toilets after a couple of drinks.

The entry via the closed Barber Shop is such a cool gimmick. I love it. It's like walking into Narnia. This is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a late night cocktail, especially if you're a fan of gin. The have an extensive gin menu and you can even get a gin flight of four different gins. I recommend the Zenith cocktail if you like zesty oranges. The Simon Says is tangy and quite floral tasting. I preferred the more citrusy ones though. They have table service and service is quick. We never waited long for a top-up or a new drink.

During a recent visit to Barbershop Bar, I was pleasantly surprised by the unique and charming entrance. Walking through an actual barbershop and sliding open a metal door to reveal an amazing bar area was an experience in itself. The atmosphere inside was fantastic, with a stylish and inviting decor that set the perfect tone for a night out.

However, my experience with the staff left a bit to be desired. Despite the bar not being very busy, the staff could have been more attentive and friendly. It was a bit surprising that they didn't engage more given the slow pace of the evening.

Another point of contention was the pricing of the cocktails. While the drinks were well-crafted, the portion sizes were quite small for the price, making them feel overly expensive. Additionally, I noticed a lack of attention to detail when it came to cleanliness. There were a lot of empty tables with old glassware and plates left unattended, which detracted from the overall experience.

In summary, Barbershop Bar has a lot of potential with its unique entrance and fantastic atmosphere. Despite the high prices and the need for more attentive service and cleanliness, it was an enjoyable visit, and I would consider returning. With a few improvements, this bar could become a top-notch...

Make sure you confirm -and double confirm- your appointment before showing up. I called The Barber Shop York St but they were fully booked and offered me an available booking across at Barangaroo. This was great as I really wanted a haircut before a special event that night. So York St said they will book me in at Barangeroo. So I get in my car and join the peak-hour traffic across the Harbour Bridge from Macquarie Park. Upon arrival that novel excitement to try a well-established barber is transformed into deep disappointment. I walk in, introduce myself - and I am shocked to hear that there was no booking made for me and that someone else has been booked at that time. Now the appointment was made for 7pm so by that time pretty much every other barbershop in Sydney was closing and had their last customers. So I had to spend my time and effort and trust this company as I think they should be reliable enough to make an appointment given their large customer base and positive googlereviews, however I was just left disappointed. Nothing else was offered to me, it would have been nice if they could have gone out of their way to find another barbershop still open- but all they said was "I can't help you". Disappointing experience, and...

I went tonight with my work colleagues and was very unsatisfied with the customer service, especially the bartender who had a man bun with a unique mustache. He was reluctant to take my order because I ordered it separately from my colleague. Before her, my other colleague ordered it separately with no problems, it felt like he discriminated me and my colleague because we were “foreigners” (unlike our former colleague who was a local Australian). It may be a bit of an assumption, but that’s how bad the customer service was, as if I was a burden to their business just because I ordered separately. If that was the rule, it could’ve been at least nicer. The attitude was as if I irritated him just by ordering a few drinks. He also was frowning at my request for some recommendations, and pointed me towards a different bartender. He didn’t want to mix with me at all I suppose? It was a horrible customer service experience and although the drinks were pretty good, it wasn’t worth the price because we customers pay for the service as well....
