We had a fantastic time here! We were so happy to find Limoncello Spritz on the menu (when we were in Italy on holiday, many places were out of limoncello). The little terrace at the back is lovely, the staff is very friendly, and the food was excellent. As an entrée, we shared the smoked trout dip, which was delicious and generously portioned. We would have preferred it with bread instead of crispbread, but it still worked well. We both ordered the Mafaldine Pasta, which was good, though I would have preferred real chorizo pieces instead of chorizo meatballs. The garlic focaccia was amazing, and the parmesan on top was a perfect touch. The only downside was the multiple loud announcements about the theatre show starting soon, we had to pause our conversation each time, and it happened at least five times. Still, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!

I have been working for almost two years in Hickson Road and this hidden gem of its caliber is my to go-to default when I suggest for a dining meet-up or a drink catch-up with friends. Perfect view, good food, nice ambiance and not so pricey. I even go here sometimes for my personal lunch because they have their very reasonable lunch specials for 20.00 AUD and comes with a glass of wine. The menu changes from time to time so I can say they are quite diverse. What else I could ask for to something that is already perfect, and that's my POV. Lastly this place is very local that you will see mostly workers from the area or adventurous Aussies. A good venue as well for some special occasion functions like a wedding reception.

Perfect for an affordable outing with friends or family. We started with the cocktail jugs - Sangria and Pimms 🍹 These were a stretch to share between four, and quite watered down, so we switched to wine and enjoyed the outdoor balcony overlooking the Harbour Bridge 🍾 For food we shared a variety of plates: Halloumi, Garlic Bread, Olives 🫒, Calamari, Chips. Surprisingly filling even though we didn’t grab a main. We weren’t sure if the balcony would be too cold, but it was warm despite being in the middle of Sydney rain. If you’re able to book to come during Vivid you’ll get a perfect view of the lights on the harbour!

It wasn’t a great experience from start to finish. We made a reservation but no table was prepared for our arrival. We waited outside while enjoying the view. Your inattentive staff didnt clear / set up a table for us. We had to follow up. Then it was the trouble of finding a staff to order. We got advised to order at the bar. I explained to the staff that we were wanting entree followed by mains. Her answer was blunt ”either you have your food together or you come back and order after your mains”. I was so shocked. This beautiful place has turned into a 2 star pub now.

Drink came after 15min. After 30mn of wait, we followed up with a waiter for the food but he never came back with an answer. All the staff member were so inexperienced - they are just busy chatting amongst themselves rather than checking on the floor. Just the constant walking around with no purpose. I had to walk up to the manager who has just finishing his staff meal.

We have have now been waiting for 45min for 1 bread, 1 arancini and 3 steak. We were expecting some delay as your staff pushed us to have all dishes together. There was approximately 10 other tables waiting on food - why didn’t the manager before eating his meal check on the floor or why did the other staff not checked with the kitchen on delay??

Upon noticing the delay, why did the staff not offer some nuts and chips to guests waiting on their food. Another round of drinks could have ease the tensions. When I spoke to the manager, he mentioned that he will refund the entire bill but this didn’t happen - we however got offered 1 jug of cocktail. With close to 1 hr of wait, i would have expected some sort of compensation. We were just tired and upset by the whole situation. The manager advised that there was an issue with the printer. We finished our meal in 20mn and left while the staff were served their meal however, not sure if other tables were waiting on food or not. If I haven’t been with my friends celebrating, her birthday we would have left. This was a very embarrassing night and a celebration turned into a nightmare. Your venue and stuff ruined this night with clearly inexperience staff...

Amazing view, great decor, and reasonable selection of food and drinks - but they just never seem to get the bit about being a theatre bar right. Last night (far from the first time) we got out of our show at about 9:30 and want to grab a bite to eat. The full menu was at the entry - great we figure, and pick what we want. No, turns out they weren't doing 'large plates' any more (the menu lists both as 'til late). Then they had to work out if sides were okay or not. We ended up having a couple of snacks. Was mostly annoyed by the lack of communication. You have a massive sign at the entrance - use it! Or ensure your staff are clear on what is happening. Although it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect a theatre bar to be serving at the end of a show. This ongoing issue really tarnishes what is otherwise a reasonable...
