Das Brahms — Restaurant in Innsbruck

On Wednesday 31st October my friends and colleagues & I went for dinner in this new restaurant in Innsbruck. We were very excited about it. Our excitement was soon disappointed by the first of the two waitresses serving us. Probably not wearing fancy cocktail dresses let them assuming that we were there begging for some food. We are all in our late 20s-30s, working for a fashion luxury company. I can say that in my life I never had such a bad experience, with unprofessional staff and not nice food. And after yesterday night we all understood how some restaurants invest everything in contemporary furniture and sleek design but not on the customer experience. One of us ordered a rice dish (€ 21) that sent back twice because the rice was too hard. At the end she didn’t have any because it was uneatable. Other two of us went for a white fish salad with oranges. What a surprise when it was served them some smoked salmon (the one you can find in the supermarket). Obviously disappointed they complained to the waitress that got back with the two same plates - after consulting with the chef - saying that probably we don’t know anything about fishes. Instead of being sorry of their complete failure they stared being even more arrogant. Noticing that we were not happy at all they offered us some coffees...not even a dessert to share or some free after dinner drinks. When paying, we showed our disappointment asking for a discount on the rice dish. Result: after 5 minutes of discussion my friend paid HALF of the rice and we had to pay for all the coffees that weren’t any longer on the house. So, Das Brahms. I still don't know how I feel about this place. The inside is looking really luxurious, the seating area outside is really big, shielded by umbrellas, and at the day we visited Brahms, it was also packed. This place seemed to be the locals favourite, but for me there was something off, something I can't pinpoint until now. Maybe it was the menu, maybe the location, the atmosphere (I felt like sitting at beach bar)? I have no idea. I got vegan burger, because I was curious about it... It was average. The staff was nice, people seemed to have good time here, but my husband and I felt kinda out of the place. Maybe next time we'll try to stop by for a drink and...

Usually a nice place I’ve been coming quite often, for food and drinks, but today the Chef made me change my mind. We were watching the soccer game, and he just stood right in front of the screen, where we asked him to move, this moment he immediately became aggressive and started screaming that if we don’t like it we can leave. Where we said we just asked you to move as we’re here for the game, where he came again and threatened that we had to leave and pay. Sorry but this is no service, and if a chef is like this I would absolutely not recommend this place. The arrogance this person showed towards his customers is a disgrace for such a place....
