We've just revisited this place after 2 years and we're really disappointed in the changes to the worse that happened in the meantime. The staff seems completely lost in their job - the main waiter has no clue who arrived when, servicing tables at random or just focusing on those that are the closest to the entrance. Then he forgets half of the ordered drinks even though he wrote the order down on paper. Apart from us, I saw at least 3 other tables where people had to correct him after he brought the wrong order. Another waitress had to visit 3 tables asking people who ordered the bottle of water she just brought because she no idea where to put it. Then we received the two dishes we ordered separated by 10 minutes. The table next to us received the dishes 20mins apart from each other. We had a wieneschnitzel and gulash and both were very mediocre. I love wienerschnitzels so I'm ordering it often in Austria and I've seen them made well. This was not made well. Especially that it costs €28.50. It wasn't the worst dinner I've had but it certainly was way below the level I would expect from a restaurant in one of the most prominent spots in the old town, charging €30 per plate and seemingly trying to make themselves look like a posh place. We can't...
Read moreruined evening and absolute chaos. We reserved a table. 12 hours in front. but when we came no one knew about reservation. Waiter sent us to look for places by ourselves. So we went the second floor - it was busy. Then to the first floor - was busy too. Then we were seated downstairs. We had to wait 10 minutes for the menu card. Drinks and soups were served quickly and were delicious. But before us unfolded a real scandal between 2 waiters, man and woman. They shouted, cursed, dropped glasses and dishes several times. All the guests sat and watched, no one felt comfortable. There was also a couple with a child. The male waiter yelled at the female waiter in front of the guests. We didn't want to stay there. We approached the waiter and said that we were paying and leaving. We will not eat the second course. And no oma even said sorry to us. Anything. This was our last evening and dinner in Innsbruck and it was spoiled. Separately, I note that there is complete chaos in the restaurant, food is brought out of order, the staff runs up the stairs, shouting at each other. This place is in a wonderful old building. And this is...

What I liked: Beautiful setting, pretty building, comfortable outdoor chairs. Our personal waiter was friendly, helpful and clearly doing his best.
What I disliked: Disorganised kitchen: by the time all the food was on the table, the first dish served was cold. We were a table of just 3 people. We waited over half an hour for our 1 desert, it was for our son who is 10. By the time it arrived he was fed up, over-tired and it was very late.
Don’t buy the bottled water: €6,90 for 0.75 litre!
I’m not going to complain too much about the high prices of the food, it’s a busy restaurant in the middle of a beautiful tourist area, I don’t expect it to be cheap.
However, for my money, I do expect a basic level of respect and service that was distinctly lacking. We came away feeling exploited, badly served and annoyed. This is obviously common practice. Maybe they are more accommodating to their regulars, but for a small family passing through, they...
