I recently visited Mamma Mia twice, drawn by the positive reviews about the food and atmosphere. While most of the staff were friendly and attentive, our experience was severely marred by the behavior of one female staff member with tattoos and short red hair.
During our first visit, we waited in line for an hour with our 7-year-old, only to watch others who arrived after us get seated before us. Once we finally got a table, we were ready to order, having already checked their online menu. However, the server accused us of using the wrong menu and only acknowledged that their website was outdated after we showed it to her. Despite this, she ignored our repeated requests to clean our table, instead prioritizing other tables and customers. When we asked her again, she astonishingly claimed that the table would only be cleaned after we placed our order. We were shocked by her attitude but decided to overlook it once the food arrived, which was decent.
Wanting to give the restaurant another chance, we returned the next day for dinner, only to be served by the same person. After placing our order, she returned just 15 minutes later to tell us that our table was reserved and we needed to finish quickly. When I questioned why we were being treated differently, her response was, "Oh, I didn't get good vibes from you." This was beyond unacceptable, especially considering we were a young couple with a 7-year-old. We left shortly after, deeply unsettled by her behavior, which made us question her mental stability.
This staff member's conduct was not only unprofessional but also alarmingly rude and, in my view, racially biased. Her actions made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable in what should have been a pleasant dining experience.
It's unfortunate that such behavior overshadowed our visits. I sincerely hope Mamma Mia addresses this issue, as no customer should have to endure such treatment. They need to ensure that all guests are treated with the respect...
Read moreWe did a whole tour of all the pizza places in Innsbruck, the ones that serve real Italian pizza and not some kind of other pies. Right in the old part of the city „Altstadt“ of Innsbruck, the place is usually very crowded and our visit was very much the same. We had pre booked our seats and we got to watch the cues form and move from our table. The dough was good, well made and soft inside whilst crispy on the outer rims of the pies. The middle, sadly, was pretty soggy from the toppings. Good quality ingredients and good seasoning. The flavor was also very good. However, the texture and the overall feel of the sauce was, while still definitely in the top tier of the local places, not the best of the bunch in my opinion. Also due to the high customer traffic if you will, service was not as great as one would hope and the orders were not all completely fulfilled. Also, neither drinks nor food were served at the same time for the two people on the table… not ideal for a date, but again, very full house that day… of the places in Innsbruck that serve real Italian pizza, it’s a top five place, for sure. The top spot though is claimed by another...
Read moreDisappointing experience overall. We waited far too long just for the hostess to arrive and seat us. Once seated, we were rushed through our order and reminded multiple times that the kitchen was closing which made us feel unwelcome. The pasta dish was terrible – full of onions, which weren’t mentioned on the menu. We don’t eat onions, and the taste was awful. We barely touched the dish. Though they eventually refunded us, it felt like they were doing us a huge favor. The shrimp with pasta was also unpleasant and lacked any real flavor. We also ordered garlic bread, which tasted like neither garlic nor bread – totally bland. To top it all off, we were charged for a dish we never even received, and no apology was offered. The service was poor, the food (besides the pizzas) was a letdown, and the overall attitude was unfriendly. The pizzas were the only redeeming part of the evening. Not...
