Ich schreibe wirklich nie Bewertungen, aber mein letzter Besuch im Kaffeehaus des Hotel Melanie verdient leider eine.
Das Café befindet sich an einem schönen Ort, das Personal ist freundlich. Allerdings sollten Sie sich auf hohe Preise einstellen, selbst für Salzburger Verhältnisse.
Wir baten um ein zusätzliches Glas Leitungswasser zu unserem Frühstück und mussten dafür extra bezahlen. Als Salzburger fand ich das überraschend und ziemlich ungewöhnlich. Der Kaffee ist ohnehin bereits teuer (fast 5€ für einen schwarzen Kaffee), und zusätzlich für Leitungswasser etwas zu verlagen, finde ich eigentlich eine Frechheit.
Die meisten Frühstücksoptionen kosten über 20€, was in Österreich absolut nicht der Standart ist, wo einfache Frühstücke ab etwa 8€ beginnen.
Bei den vielen anderen großartigen Cafés in der Umgebung würde ich dieses auf jeden fall auslassen, sorry.
I rarely write reviews, but my recent visit to Kaffeehaus by Hotel Melanie truly warrants one.
The café is in a lovely location, and the staff is friendly. However, be prepared for the steep prices, even by Salzburg standards.
We requested an extra glass of tap water with our breakfast, only to be charged for it. As a Salzburg local, I found this surprising and quite out of the ordinary. The coffee itself is already on the expensive side (nearly 5€ for a simple black coffee), and charging extra for tap water feels excessive.
Most breakfast options are priced above 20€, which is far from typical in Austria where simple breakfast start from around 8€.

We were a very tired hungry family of 4 and the taxi dropped us at the wrong place so our breakfast plans went awry. We stumbled over Das Kaffeehaus as one of the only places serving breakfast at 10.30am. The service fast and friendly and the food was AMAZING. I had the best coffee I've had in 3 weeks in Europe. Lovely little cafe. My partner got a strudel that was simply divine and my daughter got a "ham toast" that was essentially a ham sandwich with excellent quality ham.
