I visited the restaurant a few weeks back and, unfortunately, had a negative experience which is unusual in Salzburg. Service was very slow - it took around 40 minutes to get only the drink (this is after reminding the waiter multiple times I ordered one). Subsequent two rounds of drinks ordered were never delivered. Even though I reserved a table, it was not ready until 20 minutes later and I was asked to leave it midway through the dinner to sit somewhere else due to lack of capacity (tiny and uncomfortable table by the entrance more suited to a quick coffee maybe).
I would like to give it a better rating, but the above combined with relatively high prices (especially drinks which are not listed on the website) made me unhappy that I wasted so much time and money in the end. Food was OK but I am not able to confirm if the falafel was home-made or store-bought (given similar reviews below). I will not come back for sure because there are simply better places to go to...
Read moreAs a vegan I have eaten in countless Lebanese/Syrian restaurants all over the world and this one definitely stands out. We ordered the tasting platter for two + wine. The hummus was spectacular. The mtabel was divineee. And the falafels were so fluffy and light, you would never know that you're eating deep fried chickpeas. Hands down some of the best I've ever tried in my life, which is no easy feat to accomplish because my weekly diet is like 30% falafel. The wine was also delicious, local and well priced. Besides the food, the restaurant is kind of old school and cozy, and the Syrian playlist was fire. The staff was also incredible, so genuine and kind. We had just come to Salzburg from skiing in the mountains over the weekend and this was exactly what we needed. If I would live in Salzburg, this would definitely be my go to place. Vielen...
Read moreHorrible and overpriced food experience!!! Choose this restaurant, when you don't care about food and money.
The Mutabel came straight out of a can. The chicken was burned and dry like the Gobi Desert.
You will end up paying over EUR 100 for 4 people and regret it during every single bite.
I'm sorry, but I don't know how this restaurant is rated so high, it must be a glitch in the matrix or ratings of another species from another universe. I normally don't bother to even write a review, but in that case I feel obliged to make an exception. I think even they themselves know that their food sucks. We haven't even been ask how it was, when we finished.
