Burrito Factory — Restaurant in Salzburg

My family and I had eaten at the Burrito Factory once before and enjoyed the food as well as the outdoor seating space. It’s a warm weather restaurant at best being that the indoor space is tiny. Seats about 12 total inside. Last night after a very long day of traveling we returned to the restaurant a full 1.5 hours before their closing. The restaurant was approximately half full however, it had a mix of open two top tables and no four person seating available.

Initially, we stood inside the doorway waiting to be greeted for over 10 minutes however, no one so much as said hello or asked us if we were wanting to eat there. We stood there rather awkwardly for nearly 10 minutes, at one point even being passed by an employee making a garbage dump without any interaction from anyone. Eventually, the chief of the restaurant, who had looked our way numerous times was informed by the employee we were still waiting in the foyer. His only response was to make a face to his employee and mutter something that appeared to be angry before he made a brushing motion with his hand indicating he didn’t care we were there and to go away.

If we had arrived very late or if they simply had no room or didn’t wish to push two tables together to seat us, the proper and professional way to handle that would have been to politely inform us and send us on our way. My friends and I came in a huge group, not knowing how small restaurant was. However, those working were happy to seat us and did not seem bothered by our big party at all. The atmosphere was warm, lively yet calm at the same time. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and was also able to try the chicken burrito my friend ordered. Both dishes were incredibly fresh and had incredible flavor. I was incredibly shocked to find such a hidden gem in the heart of Salzburg, and would go back to this spot in a heartbeat. The portion sizes are great for what you pay for, and will not leave you hungry. My friends also ordered margaritas in which they said were some of the best they have tasted. One of the worst food experiences I've had in Salzburg, the food came cold, and the waiter was unbelievably unfriendly and seemed like he didn't even want us to sit down and order, the food was unbelievably bad. Not only was it cold but it has no taste, I ordered the beef, chicken, veggies mix with the taco shell and it had 0 taste. My friend ordered the beef burrito and complained about the lack of taste as well, we had to put a lot of hot sauce on our food to get any sort of taste at all. And finally the portion was unbelievably small and there was barely and meat or chicken in my taco shells.
