Mozartsteg — Local services in Salzburg

The Mozartsteg is a bridge named for Mozart and a pedestrian bridge across the River Salzach. It's a fairly nondescript looking bridge as bridges go. This bridge featured in the "The Sound of Music" as Maria and the children cross the River Salzach at the begining of their day trip out of Salzburg, while the instrumental of "My Favorite Things" plays in the background.

This small bridge spans the beautiful Salzach River, which originates from the Kitzbuehel Alps. This bridge appeared in the movie "The Sound of Music." In one scene, Maria and the Colonel's children cross this Mozart Bridge on their way to a picnic. The most memorable scene in the movie was when they crossed the bridge and looked back at the old town, where the Hohensalzburg Fortress towered over them. This part of the river is one of my favorite sites in Salzburg. The houses along the river are well kept and beautiful architecture. The area is more quiet than in the city center.
