The pizza was super good, the crust was airy and crunchy at the time, the tomate sauce well seasoned and the toppings delicious. I can really recommend this place if you are craving a goood pizza.
The place is cozy, well furnished, small but well distributed. The wc is outside, but its a old city, so it can happen.
How ever, if you also want to have a nice experience I do not recommend this place, friendliness, politeness and patience have seemed to fly over the head of the waitress.. so none existent.
Long writing to make clear why the low review:
First, no polite welcome, got the menus, and were given about 20 seconds to choose a drink… we needed more time, at least 30seconds more to even read what they offered, so we ordered drinks, one entry to share and our pizzas, drinks and plates for the entry were more thrown on the table then placed, but we laughed it off. My husbands plate got taken away no less then a second after he finished his last bite, i had a piece in my hand and she was also about to take the plate even though I was not done. Then my pizza came no word was said, again plate thrown, not placed and we just assumed my husbands would follow, but it did not, and neither were we let know, that it would not come soon, so we just that there with one pizza not knowing, about after ten minutes of mystery waiting (she looked busy we did not want to bother as she already seemed overwhelmed/annoyed), she said its coming. So we waited patiently and when it arrived it was super good, no idea why they served all the pizzas mixed on Tables but mess ups can happen, another couple also got there food at completely different times.
I do not expect a over friendly, bubbly waitresses, but having someone that is polite, would make a...
Read moreWe were very excited to try this place. We came to this restaurant at a reasonable time. There were multiple tables available. One server tried to seat us but another one completely refused us service and seemed to be racist. They didn’t suggest a wait time either. Very bad and disrespectful experience. We had to leave. Everywhere else in Salzburg has been very open and inviting. No one else had refused business from customers like this. Not the behavior we were expecting in this century. I would not suggest this place.

We came in at 7 pm and you close at 10 pm. There was 3 hours left till you close! If restaurants don’t have availability, they give you a wait time. We were given no such thing and were just told we can’t be seated!
Your staff spoke amongst themselves in German for a few good minutes as if they didn’t know what to say to us for how to refuse us… and then just told us they can’t seat us!
Ultimately, we just got the impression that we were NOT wanted there.
You should think from our perspective (the customer) on how this may look.
Going through your reviews, we are not the only ones who have complained about a rude waitress!
If anything, instead of SHOUTING back at us you should be PROFESSIONAL and take this incident to come up with a better system for your restaurant, and better training for your staff. Ask your staff to communicate clearly and offer wait times, and mark tables with RESERVED cards so that the availability is clear...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of visiting Sto Bene on two occasions during our stay in Salzburg, and I want to sincerely thank the team for their warm hospitality. From the beginning, the gentleman who guided us through the menu was very kind and considerate. Since most of the pizzas included pork, which we don’t eat, he immediately suggested alternatives and even offered to adjust some options so we could enjoy a proper meal.
What impressed us most were the small but meaningful details. When I mentioned that my wife cannot enjoy pizza without olive oil, he quickly brought us plenty without hesitation, saying, “take them all.” These gestures mean more to me than just the taste of the food—they show real care for the customer.
At the end, when it was time to pay, I had the chance to thank the chef personally. His name is Yonan, and in my opinion, he is a true chef. He asked me not only if the pizza was good, but also about the smallest details—what we liked, what could be better, and how we would describe the taste. This level of attention shows passion and dedication to continuous improvement, which is rare and admirable.
Thank you, Yonan, and thank you to the entire Sto Bene team. You made our experience in Salzburg even more special. Highly...
