Was on a recent trip with a several day stop in Salzburg and found KAVA on my search for a morning coffee. I was greeted immediately by Simon, one of the owners of KAVA. He talked with me through their menu and explained about their blends and where they source their beans. He went into detail about their roasting process, and we chatted about some of the coffee regions I familiar with in Latin America.

I ordered an espresso from a 100% Peruvian Robusta and a filter coffee, both of which prepared perfectly by Simon. Also tried a pistachio citrus cake that was amazing. Easily the best coffee experience I’ve had in Germany and Austria; so good I bought a bag of the 100% Robusta to take home.

If you want excellent coffee, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and a small business that is ethical and really passionate about coffee, then KAVA Coffee Roasters in Salzburg is it. Apparently they have other locations as well that I’m sure are worth checking out.

The vibe was awesome, nearly as good as the coffee. Hope to come...

It’s a bit back alley and small, but this also adds to the overall vibe especially when seated inside. I ordered 1 cold brew and 1 carrot cake

Pros: warm interior and design (cups, tables etc.) Barista offered me 2 different roasts Coffee taste was nice balanced and clean

Cons: Ordered a cold brew got a cold drip (there is a differents) Ice Cubes weren’t measured (no exact quantity) Filter wast brewed with water from the coffee macchine (no exact temperature)
