I wouldn't give this hotel 3 stars so it amazes me how it has 5 .|Room was ok.|Service in breakfast restaurant was non existent . No one managing the breakfast staff. No one greeting guests .|Virtually no fruit left in the buffet when we went up. Chaotic and poorly trained staff.|The toilets downstairs in the communal area were filthy. Easily the worst i have ever seen in any hotel and i am a frequent traveller , having been on 8 trips this year and stayed at about 12 hotels.|The two door staff were disinterested and after we checked out and drove away we realised that they had failed to put one of our bags in the boot of our car and so we had to take a one hour round trip just to get it.|These are only some of the issues we found at this hotel but there were several more.|As a result, l wouldn't return to this hotel if they gave us free accommodation , food and a bottle of champagne . Fact !|I should have stayed at the Sacher. A true 5 star hotel .|The Bristol is a tired old hotel with tired staff, no fitness room, no pool, toilets that do not appear to have been cleaned in days , inadequate breakfast , and tired rooms. |Photos on their website look great but trust me that as soon as you enter , the place is very different and...
Read moreTo summarise what happened, there were serious concerns from our side with regards to data protection as another guest's full credit card number, expiry date and their email had been shared with me on TWO occasions. We were nearly given another guest's room because the receptionist did not listen when I gave her and even spelled my name. I was accused of not having paid the deposit when, in fact, a full payment had been made the day before. As it transpired, that was someone else's hotel bill!
Guests' full names, date of births, contact details and credit card receipts are stapled together and stored in an easily-accessible box at the reception. Anyone seizing an opportune moment to steal it, can. A staff member asked to speak English as they were not able to communicate in or understand German. At a supposed 5-star hotel in a German-speaking country, that's worrying. Most concerning and reason for the low rating is that I have raised this and another incident with the hotel's manager and chased for a response, with no reply whatsoever after sharing what happened. This is not the service one would expect from a 5-star establishment. Very, very...
Read moreVery fun hotel with unique rooms. Right in the heart of salzburg with lots of food and shopping within a few blocks. Multiple parking options nearby varying in price from €20-€40 per day if you have a car. Valet is €60 per day which is quite high. In the rooms the bedding isnt great, with thin pillows, VERY small comforters, and somewhat firm beds. A/C does not go lower than 20C. The shower is very small and completely open to the bathroom. The blow dryer only worked sometimes. Breakfast is very average, and not much better than what you would find at a budget hotel in the united states. One evening i asked the front desk for extra water bottles and was told i would have to wait for the next morning’s maid service for the minibar to be refilled, or i could buy some bottles in the hotel bar, despite the fact that non-alcoholic beverages were supposed to be complimentary in the minibar. In general, much of the attention to detail and service you would expect at a 5 star hotel is lacking. Ultimately you stay at this hotel for the location, the history of the building, and the aesthetics. All of which are good, but this is not a...
