We loved Afro Café so much that we ended up coming here twice for breakfast during our short stay in Salzburg. It’s easily one of the most vibrant and inviting spots in the city. The atmosphere is fun, colorful, and full of energy, which makes it a perfect place to start your day.

The food here is absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I can confidently say I had the best waffles of my life here: light, crispy, perfectly cooked, and topped with just the right balance of sweet and fresh ingredients. The breakfast menu offers a great variety, with something for everyone—from classic options to more adventurous twists. Their coffee selection is also fantastic. The staff is warm, kind, and attentive, even when the place gets busy—which it definitely does! It’s a popular spot with both locals and visitors, so I recommend going early if you want to avoid a wait and get a good table.

All in all, Afro Café is a must-visit in Salzburg if you’re into great breakfasts, amazing coffee, and a fun, welcoming vibe....

Afro Café in Salzburg is a vibrant and colorful spot that immediately stands out with its unique African-inspired design and atmosphere. Unlike the classic Austrian coffeehouses, this café brings a refreshing, modern twist with lively décor, bright colors, and a cheerful vibe. The menu is creative and diverse, offering everything from freshly brewed coffee and exotic teas to delicious breakfasts, light lunches, and vegan-friendly options. Their smoothies and fresh juices are also a highlight for health-conscious visitors. The outdoor seating area is perfect during summer, providing a relaxed place to enjoy the city’s atmosphere. Service is friendly and casual, which fits perfectly with the laid-back concept of the café. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and creativity of the food and drinks. Overall, Afro Café is a must-visit for anyone looking for something different from the traditional Viennese-style cafés. It’s a trendy place that combines great flavors with a fun,...

One of the best dinners we’ve had in Salzburg. Don’t think it’s just a cafe, they have REALLY good meals too!

My brothers each had the club sandwich which was hefty and generous in portion. They absolutely loved it since they killed it down to the last bite. I had the ostrich burger which was interesting, tasted like beef but with a chicken-like texture. The fries with this interesting dip were soooo good!! We usually just swear by ketchup but whatever this sauce was, it’s a gift from the culinary heaven. My mom had the prawn tabouleh which IMO was the best one. Generous again in portions, and packed with so many ingredients. It was not drowning in sauce but more like tossed in really amazing salad dressing! So delicious!!

And of course, service was impeccable and efficient! It was a busy hour but we had no trouble with delayed orders or waiting for long to ask for anything. He was also very nice and...

My partner and I visited Afro Cafe on Christmas Eve and had a wonderful breakfast! It was crowded, but we were able to get a table upon entering - would highly recommend reservations on holidays/weekends! I had the breakfast bowl (rice pudding) and smoothie. My partner had the choco porridge and the chocolate coffee. Everything was absolutely delicious. My rice pudding was the perfect, cozy breakfast, and I loved the toppings - fresh pomegranate, chia seeds, compote, etc. I’ve been dreaming about it since. The service was ok - the server was extremely friendly, but because of the crowded nature, it was hard to get their attention (seemed like there was only 1 person working the floor). I’d highly recommend visiting if you’re in Salzburg!

It is located in old town right at the end of pedestrian zone. Due to its positive reviews we went for dinner. It was raining a bit, therefore outdoor section was not operating fully. They gave a table inside which was little cramped. Though everything was fine inside, but due to pleasant weather it was better outside. Upon our request after sometime they shifted us outside. We had a local white wine with salad and chips & dip. The wine and and food was very good. The service was very efficient. The ambiance was great, mostly young crowd. The outdoor section was a great place to watch the world go by while having your meals or drink. Worth visiting !!
