Do bring your children here, this is an amazing museum with toys you can actually play with. It is really a fantastic place to spend your time with kids from 1 up to 10-11 years old. We visited Salzburg on an extremely rainy day and we somehow found our way to this lovely place. We were a large group of 60 children, 9-11 years old. The staff was so nice and accommodating. We were afraid that our pupils would be too old for this Museum, but they had a blast! They played they entire time, they built awesome towers with wooden blocks, they played with marbles and dolls, they read and played shop, it was great.
Also we could eat our snacks there, there are rooms where you can do that and it's just the perfect place for primary school children (and freshly off primary 😉🙄). Next time we will know better and plan more time to spend here and reserve tickets ahead.
All in all, what started off as a miserable rainy day ended up with a great experience in this adorable museum, that the kids will remember and the teachers were deeply grateful...
Read moreVery nice museum for children up to about 9 or 10 years of age. It's really more of a playground than a museum. Kids can play with stuff on most floors and the things that are not for playing (the museum part) are well shielded from little hands, so you don't have to be afraid your child will break something. Near the entrance are some fun wooden roller coasters for marbles, don't forget to take your marble when you buy your ticket. You can deposit them again when you leave. Upon entering the museum the staff will ask that you remove your shoes. You can either go in barefoot, on your socks or you can borrow some sandals. If you don't like walking barefoot and you aren't looking forward to use borrowed shoes then make sure to bring your own socks! All in all not a very large museum, with minimal museum pieces and more an experience adventure for younger children, for a reasonable entrance fee. Sure to keep your little ones happy for a couple of hours on...
Read moreI know I’m not the proper demographic for this museum since I am a young adult, but I feel that since they advertise that it has entertainment value for adults, I should give my word. So... they lied a bit. This place is definitely meant for children. Like... almost 100%. I’m guessing what they meant is that it’s fine for adults who bring their children to it, but that’s not what they advertised. We were hoping that we’d get an enriching experience looking into the history of toys through the years, but that part of it was horribly watered down. It’s basically a playpen for very small kids with a couple history lessons scattered about. I’ll give it 3 stars for properly supplying a nice, safe entertainment venue for small children, but it needs to change its advertisement. Do not come here if you’re over the age of 8, unless you plan on bringing a child. They’ll love it....
