This restaurant had high ratings so I thought I would go. It was supposed to be a Japanese restaurant, but the food consisted of dishes named by fusing Korean and Japanese words together. This was odd considering the workers were Chinese. That's nothing new to me though.
The gyoza was done perfectly. It was crisp, hot and delicious. The Gyuniku Udon (noodles and beef) was deceiving on the menu. The broth, beef and noodles all tasted good, but the bowl was comprised of more than 50% vegetables. There was barely any beef or noodles.
My only big discrepancy was with the service. It seemed like, if you didn't speak Chinese, they forgot about you and ignored you for the good duration of your visit. I waited about 15 minutes after I got my drink before I flagged someone down so I could order food.
I eventually ordered food and received it. I asked the guy who brought me my gyoza for another beer and I never got it. I had to ask someone else.
I always feel bad about tipping poorly, so of course I overtipped like usual. This must have made their day because instead of giving me just a fortune cookie like everyone else, they gave me mochi and a fortune cookie. This made it difficult to rate the restaurant.
I'm on the fence and that means 50/50. Since you can't rate a 2.5 on here,...
Read moreThe food was really good, and all the stars go to the food alone. However, we had a very negative experience with the service. We were celebrating a graduation, and the gradual chaos during the service left us very disgruntled by the end.
We ordered gyoza, sushi, and shrimp as appetizers. First, they brought us only one portion of gyoza (we were four people). After a long wait, we reminded them, and they brought us two more appetizers, but one was still missing. We reminded them again, and eventually, the appetizers arrived at different times. The sushi and shrimp were still nowhere to be seen.
Then they brought us a lunch menu that we hadn't ordered.
About 40 minutes into our time at the restaurant, the waiter brought one main dish, saying that the sushi and shrimp were still not ready.
He then started bringing out the main courses gradually, but each of us received our food at completely different times. Finally, all the sushi arrived at once while we were still eating our main courses, so we couldn't even fit everything on the table.
One or two mistakes can happen, but to mix up practically the entire order in a restaurant of this price range, especially when guests are showing their dissatisfaction during the process, and all this without an apology, is...
Read moreJAPANESE FOOD IN CHINESE STYLE. BAD EXPERIENCE!
We ordered 1 large set of sashimi and Menu E3 (with salad, 12 pieces of maki sushi, miso soup and some side dish). The sashimi was okay but the menu was very disappointing. The maki sushi was rolled untightly, i can see the rice not stick at all. The menu was served carelessly without any wasabi or ginger, miso soup was tasteless. The salad was not like in the picture. I complainted to the manager and she asked me what I want. I want to change the food to another dish, I choose Katsudon.
The katsudon was made in chinese style, with fried pork and black sauce with rice, not a bit close to the authentic Japanese one. I was very disappointed and couldnt finish it. In the end, they still charge me for the Menu E3 price even though I returned it back and ordered another smaller price.
No apopogize were made. Not the kind experience we ever expect in our trip to the lovely city salzburg.
If you have general taste of food and dont expect much for a meal, this is an okayish place for you. If you knew what real sushi and japanese cuisine is, never...
