I usually do not comment online but have to say it was a very disappointing experience. First of all, service was quite slow (and long) and I would like to echo few comments about having a dog in the restaurant not being ideal. Food was definitely not what to expect from a French restaurant ! 17 euros for a Rillettes portion is overpriced, especially if you just get a can you could buy online. For this price, you would like to have something a bit special, not even mentioning the bread served with which wasn't fresh, please dont call it Baguette. Steak Frites for 22.50 euros with a very small portion of French fries and standard beef,,, The worst was definitely the salad with cheese,,,just 4 toast in the plate with green salad and small tomatoes for 15 euros. Why not adding eggs, olives etc? Make it look nice ! Food is simply not on point, definitely not what I will call French food and when we have been asked how was the food -due to our plates being still have full- my answer was "so / so" clearly meaning we did not like it but then no questions coming next. Long story short, use your budget for a better culinary experience somewhere else...
Read moreOrdered for 2 and was told 5' later they did not have. Ordered again - quiche - and after another 30' asked if food was coming (quiche only needs to be heated after all) to be told everyone is waiting (wrong answer to paying customer). After 45' and still no food my wife was too upset to continue so I got up and said we were leaving. I was told I should pay for my beer and water, which I had intended to do until I was told to do it, and to be fair the proprietor stepped in and basically said, fine - don't pay for the drinks but rather sarcastically said goodbye. Cannot therefore recommend and would never go back. They are way under-staffed for even more than a few customers and need to 1) recognise this and do something about it and 2) not request sympathy from customers for such shortcomings regarding...
Read moreWent on 10 December 2022, about 1815. All the restaurants were full on this Saturday and I was thankful I got a table at this restaurant. Settled down and ordered the confit goose legs which was very on point (very good), beer and rollet cake (which was decent). Service was excellent.
Unfortunately, I was unaware of the tipping culture in Austria (roughly 10% would indicate good service - I googled it after this whole episode) and missed out on the tip. The waitress wasn’t happy. Please consider giving tips after meals in Austria to reward good services rendered.
Minus the tipping part, which is a lesson to learn, the whole experience in this restaurant was fantastic. Please consider coming to this restaurant to try their...
