Ice cream was good but sadly the poor service by staff leaves a bad memory of this place. Asked the waiter (bald guy) if I could try some of the ice cream flavours before choosing and he looked so unwilling and said we could only try 1 time. How are we supposed to know which flavour is nice? Seems very stingy and unfriendly for a shop that has good business. Ordered the wild strawberry flavour (house specialty) which was really nice and had a smooth texture. Special flavours cost €2.30 euro more per scoop. Hot chocolate was ok. Ordered the snail-shaped pastries as well and found that it had a bad taste of oil in it. When we feedbacked to the staff, he just said that in the winter the pastry is nice, but in the summer it doesn't taste nice. Not really sure what that's supposed to mean...

We order two scoop of ice cream for my daughter because it’s really hot and she’s tired she want to seat and the waiter kick us out even thought most of the seat are empty . I didn’t know that the seat is only for a different menu because they didn’t told us . Not a good experience. Will not buy from this place again. It’s 30 degrees outside and . Ice cream cost almost 4euro but not so special . Btw no visible sign saying you are not allowed to sit if you buy ice cream at this shop .

A word in advance.I cannot understand, what some people here do.The icecream is one of the worst in Vienna and the price an effrontery. Are you all paid or nuts? This really gets me angry, cause many other smaller ice cream parlours spend much time and money in quality and nobody cares. My advice for most people would be,that before you write such nonsense or lies(regarding to the ones who point out the fair prices :( )that you should at least taste ice in 10 other locations and maybe this will open an eye.

Well that used to be one of the best ice cream parlors in Vienna. But that's a damn long time ago. I think it was eventually bought by Russians. My last ice, last year I threw it away. I was there today. The special varieties (wild berry, Walnut and from me also Noughat) are okay, if you like cream ice cream, only they "slightly" overpriced (sweet cup 9.50 Euro). The rest(at least the fruitice) is to forget. Strawberry tastes like for example lemon juice, simply inedible.I am not willing to buy from the normal sortiment again, because you easyily identify the cheap production.

I love Icecream, mostly the good one ;) and so i often go to discover new potential treasures in Vienna. Also the quality in Icesaloons change from one year to the other in many cases. Therefore its so shocking when someone here writes thats the best one in town.Did he ever visit another place in Vienna,is he payed or maybe a friend of the owner...?

The worst experience I ever had in an Ice Cream Shop in Vienna as I am living in this city for several decades already: I came across with my son around 8 pm and ordered "take away" a cup of ice cream and asked for a certain sort. I got an unfriendly harsh answer from lady that it is just "seasonal and unavailable!!!" So chose 2 instead of 3 scoops. My son who is still very young wanted apple juice and I asked for one. The waiter refused to add water to it or to offer a glass of water in addition and he just put a bottle juice on one of the available tables. I told my friends just to sit down for about 5 minutes until my son will have finished his drink. One second later the waiter told them in an impolite way to leave the place although there were enough tables available for other guests. So I tried to explain him this. He was also harsh and showed no interest although there were no other guests waiting to be seated. I was shocked as I was working as waitress in my fathers coffee restaurant, as receptionist and also tour guide and know more than well how to treat people politely to make guests in the long term. So my friends disappeared as quickly as they could and I decided to buy a juice at the "Delias" Café nearby and my little boy got served what I asked and paid for while eating my cranberry ice cream which was unfortunately it seems also made with a different recipe than during the last few seasons. The lemon ice cream was delicious as usual. In conclusion I must confess after that way of "treatment" at "Eissalon Tuchlauben" I will think twice if I go there with my family or friends...
