We reluctantly went to this café after our first choice was full, only to have one of the worst experiences imaginable. Despite only a short queue of four people, we decided to wait for a table. That’s when the waiter rudely approached us and flat-out told us to leave because, apparently, having a pram was “inconvenient” for them. Yes, you read that right—he dismissed us solely because we had a pram, even though our baby was peacefully sleeping and not disturbing anyone.

I was shocked, appalled, and deeply hurt by this blatant discrimination. As a mother who just wanted a simple moment of joy—a piece of cake and a coffee—this waiter completely ruined my evening. His behavior was nothing short of unacceptable, unprofessional, and downright cruel.

To that waiter: if you’re reading this, know that your callousness left a lasting impression, and it won’t be forgiven or forgotten. You don’t just represent bad service—you represent everything wrong with hospitality....

This was one of our best cafe experiences! The staff were incredibly friendly and the selection was great. We had tried to visit numerous other cafes on a busy and snowy Saturday, and this upscale and quaint location had a spot for us! Somewhat obscure, this location caters to locals and foreigners alike— however many of the patrons were lifelong Vienna residents— each was kind and courteous and excited that we were visiting and loving their city! Truly made our Vienna experience. Highly recommend. Also tip— if the downstairs is busy, head up the mirror stairs for...

Tried several cakes at popular spots in Vienna, and the pistachio slice here was the best--enough for us to return a second time. The chocolate exterior was not overwhelmingly sweet, and the pistachio was very mild. Really enjoyed the various layers and textures. The croque monsieur with truffle was also delicious. There is limited standing area to wait (on the first floor), so recommend booking ahead of time. We also sat upstairs, which is more spacious, but fewer tables.

I always retreat to this hotel cafe after my activities in the city because it is incredibly central and never full. It also helps that they serve some of the best cakes in the city - the strawberry cheesecake is my go to. You might wonder why its not more popular. I think going to hotel restaurants/bars hasn’t gained traction like in other cities. There might be a stigma that it is only for hotel guests but this is slowly changing.
