Vienna’s Prettiest Cafes ☕️🍰🫖 All the cafes I visited were super nice, authentic and charming - don’t be surprised if you find long queues! Especially the popular spots can be really busy but worth the wait in my opinion or book in advance if you can. ❗️Don’t leave without trying the legendary SACHER CAKE, invented by Franz Sacher in Vienna 🍫 PRETTIEST CAFES 👇🏼 ✨ Café Central ✨ Café Sacher ✨ Café Landtmann ✨ Gerstner ✨ Demel ✨ Oberlaa ✨ Café Sperl ✨ Café Mozart Save for your next trip to Vienna! _____________ #viennacafe #viennacoffee #vienna #wienstagram #welovevienna #viennaonly #wheninvienna #viennalife #viennatouristboard #vienna_city #vienna_go #uktravelblogger #wien #viennastravel #wien_love #viennagram #viennaaustria #instavienna #viennatravel #austriatravel #europevacations #viennafood #viennafood #wheretoeatinvienna #sachertorte #bestsacher #sacher best cafes in Vienna, travel to Vienna, Austria travel, Sacher in Vienna, things to do in Vienna

Ah, Café Landtmann—a veritable beacon of sophistication and Viennese grandeur, nestled within sight of the majestic Rathaus. This café, revered by locals and celebrities alike, offers an ambiance that blends classical elegance with an unmistakable Viennese charm. Few establishments can boast such an illustrious history while consistently delivering an experience that is nothing short of sublime. From the moment one steps inside, there is an air of refinement that permeates every detail. The staff, dressed in elegant, period-inspired attire, exemplify the highest standards of courtesy and efficiency, moving with an effortless grace that adds to the café's old-world allure. Each gesture seems perfectly in tune with the café’s timeless aesthetic, and service is prompt yet unhurried—a delicate balance that Café Landtmann has mastered to perfection. The indoor area exudes warmth and sophistication, where plush seating and ornate decor invite patrons to linger. Outside, the view is equally magnificent, with the stately Rathaus standing as a grand backdrop. As for the culinary offerings, the desserts are nothing short of masterpieces; from the sumptuous Apfelstrudel to the decadent Sachertorte, each bite offers a symphony of flavors that are quintessentially Viennese. And the coffee? A true celebration of Viennese tradition—rich, velvety, and brewed to utter perfection. Café Landtmann is more than a café; it’s a cultural experience, an homage to Vienna's enduring elegance, and a sanctuary for those seeking the true essence of Viennese hospitality.

We ditch cafe central with long tourists for this cafe instead. Atmosphere: most of their indoor seatings are reserved, if you want to seat indoor better book online 48 hours before. - the outdoor seating are also mostly full but there's always few empty table - toilet available, lots of fancy guests too.. Service: always busy but still smiling faces, their waiter and waiteress can speak English and happy to get your orders in English. They may also ask for tips when u ask for the bills. Our food came first before our drinks which I find a bit weird cus for breakfast in my preference I like drink hot coffee before eat anything. So the drinks does take sometime to arrive due to many customers. Food: Kaiserschmaan without raisin: honestly it was my firsttime, I can taste the vanilla and egg taste. It's like a pancake cake crumble, it comes with 2 type of non sweet jams, Cost about 14€.Slightly it's on the higher side but tastewise I will give 7/10 could be better but still okay. Marzipan almond cake: it's not too sweet, it's good. price wise about 7€. Not dry I din feel choke eating it. Tastewise: 9/10 Cold Creampuff roll like crossoint consistency : not sweet, good I'd give 8.5/10 Drinks: there's Eis Coffee and Eis chocolate drink (eis= ice cream).. Taste okay Coffee - we had latte/verlangater coffee is aromatic and not bitter not acidic.. SMOOTH... THE froth from latte was amazing.. This was my best part of all.. I like the coffee here.

A bit on expensive side, but it is one of those touristic places that are still worth a visit to tick you feel like really being in Vienna. Great atmosphere. Very pompous on outside but also friendly waiters (ours was indeed, she took care to explain the menu and served us quickly). Interesting, actually, how there seems to be various levels of waiters there. Some take orders, others seem yet only "qualified" to bring or collect plates. Is is how the training goes? We took coffee, chocolate and cakes. All excellent quality. A good choice of coffee has alcohol in it, but there is non-alcoholic too. I'd say think through how you combine your drinks and cakes, because coffees and chocolates can also be very rich, like a separate dish. I am a big fan of appfelstrudel, warm. It has tonns of thinly sliced apple and cinnamon, and very thin layer of pastry. What they call vanilla sauce is really just good custard. Landtman's Fair Torte would be the next choice for me, obviously cold. And some of us were very impressed with what was kind of a huge heap of crumbled buisquit/american pancakes with apple and strawberry purè. Tasted good. You might need to book in advance. We had to wait in a queue. Which was actually smaller than to other similar cafes.

Due to marketing and a long history, Café Landtmann is very popular. Also The Vienna City Card offers a 20% discount for this establishment. The dining room is beautiful, but the food was just ok. The Wiener Schnitzel was OK. Many people in these reviews thought it was outstanding, but we did not. The base price,€25.5, was for just the meat. In order to get a tiny amount of potatoe salad and some cranberry sauce it was €7 more. The hot chocolate was not good at all and the Sacher Torte was dry, in our opinion, but the Chocolate torte was excellent. My husband got dinner and I got dessert and hot chocolate, but they brought out my food first and I ate it alone, then my husband’s came out after I had finished. That wasn’t pleasant. And water is at a premium. It is not offered freely and then only in tiny wine glasses. We were very disappointed by our experience there. It is however, pleasantly located by the Rathaus, which was beautiful.
