Funky Monkey Bar — Restaurant in Vienna

Joyous, tropical yet comfortable atmosphere with affordable drinks and very friendly staff. At the entrance we had a friendly conversation with the bouncers who checked our bags. There were no age checks, however, nobody inside looked underage. Average age appeared to be mid twenties with few individuals who seemed 18 or above 30. Even though it was 11 PM on a Friday before a vacation, there were still some free tables and space on the floor. The area had a high ceiling, lots of fresh air and slightly brighter than usual lighting, which felt very comfortable. The music played was a dance mix of pop hits ranging from "Pokerface" to newer songs like "In my mind". Combined with tropical decorations this created a party like "on the beach" feeling. We ordered drinks from the waiters, who were very friendly. Free popcorn was handed out, which was a nice touch. 4cl Longdrinks cost 7,00 € to 10,50 €. Between 10 PM and 12 AM you can get 10 shots for 13,50 €. Prices as of 13/04/2019. Would definitely...

Went there with my friends and from the moment we came in we were constantly harassed by the Barkeeper (and we believe manager) to order drinks. A friend and I were undecided about our drinks and just wanted to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere first but the Barkeeper kept threatening us that he'll have us kicked out if we don't order anything because "this isn't just a bar or a club, we're a Lokal and you wouldn't go to a restaurant and not order anything". Very disrespectful and pushy, and made no effort to accommodate the guests. My friend ordered a drink and was charged double the amount that was written in the menu. You can't order cocktails on weekends, not even on the night of Halloween! Hands down the worst bar we visited that night, we packed up right away and left.

It's a shame because I like the popcorn and the table soccer, and the first time we were there the waitress was friendly. But this experience made sure we'll never return to...

*Update: Ich bin seit 3 Jahren Stammkunde, nicht seit 10, und als wir rein wollten hat der Türsteher auf mich gezeigt und gesagt "der kommt nicht rein", aber dann in die Antwort reinschreiben das ihr uns wegen "Vorlagen" nicht reingelassen habt, erscheint mir weit entfernt von dem was tatsächlich passiert ist. Ich bin btw. asiatischer Abstammung, somit dunkler, meine Gruppe bestand sonst nur aus Österreichern.

Zum Thema Shots:

Wir waren eine relativ große Gruppe, allerdings bin ich nur mit 2 Personen aus dieser Gruppe befreundet, die auch keine Shots angenommen haben. Die gratis Shots waren mehr ein Versuch uns zu kaufen, als ein entgegenkommen, die kamen nämlich kurz nachdem wir gesagt haben, dass wir eine Google Bewertung raushauen.

So einfach lassen wir uns nicht kaufen!

Ich find es auch sehr lustig, dass alleine heute 4 neue 5 Sterne Bewertungen dazu gekommen sind, sonst hab die doch nur alle paar Wochen eine neue Bewertung. Hmmm, komisch, woran das wohl liegen kann?

Zum Thema torkeln, "Einlassstopp" und Streit:

Ich war wahrscheinlich zu diesem Zeitpunkt der nüchternste von uns und bin normal gegangen, der Türsteher wollte alle reinlassen und hat explizit auf mich gezeigt und gesagt das ich nicht reinkomme, also "Einlassstop" nenne ich das nicht wenn von 9 Leuten 8 reinkommen würden.

Vorallem die Behauptung, dass es nicht das erste mal war, ich habe dich und den Türsteher das erste mal gesehen, ich war das letzte mal bei euch wo noch der alte Eigentümer das Geschäft geleitet hat.

Ich habe nicht mir dir diskutiert, es war mir einfach egal ich wurde schon öfters so behandelt und habe mich mittlerweile damit abgefunden, dass war allerdings das erste mal wo, ich diese besagte Freundin dabei hatte und sie es bis dato nur aus Erzählungen meinerseits kannte.
