Welcome: Terrible - we had a reservation for our Christmas dinner on the 25th December. We walked inside the restaurant in a respectful manner, not being loud or obnoxious, asked if we can communicate in english with the waiter waiting at the door, but he instantly gave us a weird look since we were just "tourists" and not speaking german; an austrian group came 30 seconds later as we were talking to him, and the waiter abbruptly interrupted the conversation and told us to wait whilst the austrian group was tended to and taken to their table. Later, the waiter asked her where we wanted to sit to which we said downstairs; he simply pointed towards the general direction and told us to make our way downstairs, not taking us to our table. We walked downstairs on our own where the atmosphere was bleak and the music was a horrendous youtube Christmas playlist. The tables were not prepared in ANY aspect - no tissues, no cutlery, no glasses. The only things present were two dirty beer matts that you might find in a pub.
Starters: Grilled vegetables with haloumi - cheap and unseasoned - extremely mediocre - felt like a 15y old teenager made it. Waiters not trained to Michelin standards at all. The waiter (whilst having a warm smile) just placed our tissues in the middle of the table like we were at a street market stand. Soft drinks were horrendous - the lemon soda was literally carbonated water with a squeezed lemon - lazy and bad.
Main courses: Veal medallion with roast potatoes - very average/mediocre taste and presentation. Everything was on the bland side. The veal was too chewy for what veal should be and was not easy to swallow; the ingredients felt cheap, not fresh, and I could barely taste the peppercorn in the mushroom sauce, which contained overcooked soggy mushrooms. There was not much else to comment on as it felt like eating left overs that were cooked in 15mins the night before after coming home late from work.
There was absolutely nothing Michellin-worthy about the experience at the Kussmaul restaurant. The thought of comimg back there doesn't excite me in the slightest. I believe that the Michelin star should be taken off and management should stop misleading people by falsely advertising the restaurant...

This review isnât about the food or the ambiance â itâs about something much more fundamental: basic human decency.
Yesterday, during an unexpected downpour, my boyfriend and I found ourselves caught in the rain with no nearby shelter. We spotted a small roof overhang at this restaurant and stood quietly behind their closed door, simply hoping to stay dry until the rain let up. We werenât disruptive, nor did we ask for anything. We were just two people trying to avoid getting drenched.
To our surprise and dismay, a staff member came out and asked us to leave â sending us directly back into the pouring rain. Their reasoning? We apparently didnât make for a pleasant view for their customers. It was deeply upsetting.
We are both well-mannered individuals with stable lives and above-average incomes. We didnât look out of place or present any reason for concern. But even if we did â does that justify denying someone basic kindness during a storm?
This experience left me sad and disheartened. Itâs not about status or money. Itâs about how we treat one another when thereâs nothing to gain. If a brief moment of shelter for two strangers is too much to bear for the sake of appearances, what does that say about the values behind the service?
To anyone considering a visit: be aware that while the food may matter, the way people are treated â especially those who arenât immediately handing over money â may tell you even more about a place.
Kindness costs nothing. Sadly, at this establishment, it seemed in...
Read moreI gave it 2 stars just because the place itself, structurally, is very nice and classy somewhat, but it's is in the substance a mediocre, unremarkable without identity touristic place, they serve from schnitzel to wok passing by pasta and chicken wings and none of those dishes are worth to be mentioned on any guide if not only for the sizes, In this particular case we had an "antipasti misti" which was made out of several grilled vegetables, dried tomatoes from the grocery store and grilled halloumi (which is everything but an Italian cheese and the name of the dish is Italian, hmm) , as a main course i had pasta, I specifically asked for "Al dente" and i had served a mushy , cause precooked , pasta, when pasta is pre cooked like in a lot of "commercial/touristic" restaurants serve , can ever be Al dente , my gf had chicken wings, tasteless, unremarkable and the fries that came with it where pale, almost white for that they where undercooked, we had 2 Aperol spritz , i don't even wanna start here let's say it was prosecco with a splash of Aperol, service?, the servers acted, talked and moved, with the class and professionalism of a truck driver (no offense to the truck drivers everyone has their job), form your own sake listen to me DON'T LISTEN TO ANY GUIDE OR INFLUENCER, A REMARKABLE RESTAURANT IS...
