Me and my husband ate lunch there on sunday 22/9 2024. We chose the Paella which cost 15.99 euros according to a sign. We got a small stick with shrimps to it and also there were open shrimp tails on top that we wanted when we got asked, thinking its also included. The person serving us did not inform is that these small tails cost extra. How could we know? There are no signs in English either, only german. So when we went to pay, thinking it would be around 40 Euros, it was 65. We asked the cashier, he said yes its 65. We didnt know why but because he was very stressed and didnt bother explaining and there were many in line, and we were hungry, in stress we paid it. When we saw the receipt after, each small shrimp tail cost 12.99 Euros!! So in fact we paid 26 euros more for 2 of those!! They were hard and tasted nothing and the food portion was small. I went to talk to the staff that sent me to the boss, who was the same as the cashier. A tall, bald guy. He refused to pay us back saying that my husband paid already. I told him the staff, and himself at the cashier should have told us these shrimp tails cost extra and how much. He just answered that the sign says the price. I told him no, the sign said the Paella price only, not the extra shrimp tail and nobody said its not included. We cant understand German. He shoke his shoulders and said its not his problem, its our fault that we paid. Even though he stressed us at the cashier not giving us a chance to question more. He refused to understand that they have an obligation to inform people especially tourists who dont know the language, that if they add something on our plates it costs. The 13 euro per small piece shrimp tail is insane, its a joke. The whole experience was bad and as Ive seen on other reviews the staff is not nice. They just wanna rip you off, stressing you to pay and blame you for not knowing things about the prices. VERY bad...
Read moreFantastically tasty food well priced! we literally had one of everything it looked so good, somthing for everyone. It was so fresh and high quality from the fish and chips to the king prawns and octopus just delicious. The food here is a welcomed difference to the broth, fried, stodgy foods we been having regularly, its filling but light and really uplifting! Well the kids had fish, fish bites and chips my wife had a burger king from an ally 2 doors up (with alot of explaining they kindly agreed she could eat inside with us) and me and my sister ordered the entirety of the sea food counter in sheer delight and protest to the rest of the group soo.. You can take away at the fast food counter at the street front it was very convenient and quick, inluded with each portion are two edible baskets with a choice of dips we loved the sweet chilli and a garlic mayo, very classic chippy foods like chips, fish bites, battered shrimp, a battered fish sandwich its a must try! It all comes in boxes for so its easy to walk and eat of course you can find a seat along the busy shopping street and chow down. Further along the counter as you enter for a sitdown is the mouth watering fresh seafood section it was amazing and very tasty, after taking a few trays full of plated sea food we sat right at the back its always so hot indoors in Vienna. Sitting down its modernly decorated inside very clean but cosy with views of the street. We could see local people coming and going eating traditional meals with the fish and potatoes it pays to be nosey so I popped back up and ordered some of that as wel! Full to the brim we waddled out luckily our apartment was just around the corner so a quick stop at our favourite cafe then back home for a kip and recharge before heading out to the...
Read moreIt’s one of those specialty restaurants that focuses on a particular culinary style based only on different types of fish and quite busy and popular in central Vienna few minutes by foot from St. Stephen’s Basilica! Food preparations are quite awesome in taste and fresh and served always hot. Due to so much turnover, you get the best fresh food possible right here in the middle of the city in the most unassuming manner run by most efficient and courteous staff at a very economical price! Star hotel or fine dining class foods are extremely tasty and 1/4th of the price. There are options for vegetarians too in the form of steamed mushrooms in a creamy and tasty sauce and steamed mixed vegetables. They serve all types of seafoods - prawns, sole, white, salmon in convenient and ‘make-your-way’ combos! They also have the Spanish special pallela which we enjoyed. The business model and the menu styling is rare and very unseen and extremely convenient for one and all! We were served by one Chhabilal Sabkota and he was extremely resourceful and making it easy for us to make our choices quickly! The very next day we visited him again and he had a consistent approach in serving us again. Not only that, as a loyalty incentive for a repeat guests, he gave us 10% discount on the items we bought the second day. If you are a fish lover it’s a MUST VISIT place and if you are a vegetarian then also it’s a MUST VISIT place. Don’t miss it. We highly recommend! And try and meet...
