I recently dined at Saigon Restaurant in Vienna and overall, it was a satisfying experience. While the food was good, I felt that the flavors lacked the boldness and authentic Asian kick I was expecting. However, the restaurant's atmosphere was decent, although it didn't offer an overly exciting ambiance.

Saigon Restaurant provides a pleasant setting for an Asian dining experience in Vienna. The staff members were attentive and friendly, ensuring a comfortable dining environment. The restaurant's décor had a subtle Asian touch, contributing to a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

The menu offered a variety of Vietnamese dishes, and the food itself was well-prepared and enjoyable. However, I found the flavors to be somewhat milder than I had anticipated. The dishes lacked the distinct spiciness and vibrant flavors that are typically associated with authentic Asian cuisine. While the taste was good, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of bolder and more pronounced flavors.

In conclusion, Saigon Restaurant in Vienna offers a good dining experience with friendly staff and well-prepared food. However, the flavors could be more robust and distinctive to truly capture the essence of authentic Asian cuisine. The atmosphere, while decent, could benefit from some added elements to make it more captivating. Overall, I would recommend Saigon Restaurant for a pleasant meal, but those seeking a more authentic and flavor-packed Asian dining experience might need to temper their expectations.

Despite the mildness of the flavors, the quality of the ingredients used in the dishes was evident, and the presentation was visually appealing. The menu provided a decent selection of options, catering to different preferences and dietary requirements.

In terms of the restaurant's atmosphere, it was adequate but not particularly exciting. While it succeeded in creating a relaxed and comfortable dining environment, it lacked a certain vibrancy that could have enhanced the overall experience. Adding some additional decorative elements or incorporating cultural elements could help create a more immersive and...

Sorry for not visiting sooner. What an amazing place and quite conveniently situated, close to Naschmarkt, Secession and Karlsplatz metro station. Upon recommendation, one enters with a certain expectation, but be prepared to be surprised, it more than lives up to it.

You are greeted by a very nice host - yes, it does not hurt to call ahead for a reservation during busier times, but also depends on the size of your party of course, just 2 might be able to score a table by simply walking in. The interior is very appealing and cosy, all very clean and stylish - neat details in the decor, plates and glasses. Then comes the menu - and be prepared, it is quite extensive. Take your time, the staff will hold for you to find all the delicacies you want to try and if you need help on something, don't be shy and ask.

We usually opt for a combination to share. I can highly recommend the mixed starter plate, get a taste of a whole range of rolls and small bites.

Main course can be everything you can dream of, be it classic Pho, Udon, Curry and a big selection of vegetables and vegetarian, even vegan options.

Drink wise, be sure to check out the ice tea, or even more daring, the aloe cocktail (booze free ;)

Yes, I have to confess, I am not much of a sweetie, but if you are not satisfied yet, there are also dessert options for those rather leaning to sweet delights.

I too have to highly recommend Saigon Restaurant. It's location for one, the nice interior, the broad selection, quality (did I mention, all freshly cooked and prepared?), nice, helpful and attentive staff, plus decent pricing - all come down to a solid 5 star rating, well deserved and earned.

Oh yes, we...

My wife and I recently visited Saigon Restaurant based on the positive reviews we had read. We had high expectations and were looking forward to a pleasant dining experience. However, we were unfortunately left disappointed.

Upon arriving at the restaurant and taking our seats, we were shocked to hear the owner screaming at her workers in a way that made them feel less than human. Witnessing this behavior was extremely uncomfortable and immediately set a negative tone for our meal.

Unfortunately, the poor service we received throughout the evening only added to our disappointment. The staff members were not at all polite to the customers, which was understandable considering the behavior of the owner. To make matters worse, our waiter even informed us that they do not keep tips for them selfs , as the owner prefers to keep them for herself. This behavior struck us as very inhumane and left us with a bitter taste in our mouths.

Overall, our experience at Saigon Restaurant was far from enjoyable. Despite the positive reviews we had seen, the unprofessional behavior of the owner and the lack of polite service made it difficult for us to enjoy our meal. We would not recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for a pleasant...

Yup, another swanky Viet spot. I can't help myself. It’s tough finding Vietnamese noodle soups beyond pho in Vienna. So when I spotted bun rieu and banh cuon on the menu, I had to dive in. First things first, the dishes are genuinely good. But the flavors were way too toned down for European palates. The broth I had felt like a catch-all base, something you could easily use for hu tieu or pho. Authentic bun rieu is bold with shrimp paste, fish sauce, and crab eggs. It's a symphony of savory notes. Here, it was just too mild. The banh cuon was delightful, with tender pork cake, though it lacked that spicy kick that I’m used to. I saw on the hu tieu nam vang priced at around 19 euros. The dish we borrowed from the Cambodians? Now it’s brought abroad and the price is sky-high! On a brighter note, the service is genuinely sweet. I just wish they’d tone down the price hikes as much as they’ve toned down the flavors.

The restaurant was very well decorated, spacious and clean. Great location. However service was not very friendly, and food was below our expectation. The caramelized braised pork and egg was the only ok dish. The spring rolls in the noodle salad bowl were the most disappointing, thick rice paper, not crispy and the filling were bland… The sticky rice in lotus leaves turned out to be banana leaves apparently, and the rice was too soft and sticky like porridge. Maybe because we came with high expectations. I put 3 stars as they really did a good job in the decorations of the restaurant to bring a good Vietnamese vibe. Anw it’s a should try place if u want to try Viet food as they have a huge menu, but maybe try different dishes rather than the one we did
