I recently had the pleasure of dining at Big Yard in Nassau, Bahamas, and it was a delightful experience overall! We started our meal with the Conch Fritters, which were absolutely delicious—perfectly crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor on the inside. For our main courses, we enjoyed a fantastic spread that included fried shrimp, rice with peas and plantains, a fresh salad, fried grouper served with French fries, and more rice with peas and plantains. Each dish was well-prepared and tasty, showcasing Bahamian cuisine's vibrant flavors. While the food was a highlight of our visit, it's worth noting that the service was a bit slow, and our waitress seemed somewhat inattentive at times. Despite this, the quality of the food made up for the service hiccups If you're looking for a great meal in Nassau, I highly recommend Big Yard for its incredible flavors and authentic dishes. Just be prepared for a leisurely dining experience!

My friends and I ate dinner here one night after walking up and down Fish Fry looking for a decent place to eat. Service was quite slow it took about 50 minutes for the food to come out even though there was only one group that ordered ahead of us. It seems that slow food service is normal in the Bahamas so if you’re hungry be prepared for the long wait. The outdoor area you get seated in also picks up an awful smell when the wind blows by. Unfortunate when you’re made to wait so long for food. When we finally received our food some of the sides were wrong but we were too hungry to complain. In terms of food, their portions are large, the fish was alright and the jerk chicken was good but their sides fall short. The coleslaw and potato salad tasted premade and the rice was dry and a bit hard. Between the long wait for food, the pricing and the quality we won’t be coming back. (They add a 12% VAT and 15% gratuity automatically as well)

My wife and I were on a cruise that docked in Nassau for the day. We began by doing a 3-hour tour of the island. After that was done, we were feeling hungry. We wanted to find a local, authentic fish fry restaurant. Big Yard did not disappoint! I want to give a big shoutout to Elvis. He was working the sidewalk and talked us into coming in for lunch. The patio was fun. The music was too loud. The prices were reasonable. The service was slow. The portions were huge. The food was delicious! The grilled red snapper was flavourful and seasoned to perfection. My wife and I shared the one order. If we're back to Nassau on a future cruise, we will definitely return to Big Yard!

we were a visibly lost group of 8 on our first night, but this place had one of their guys out on the sidewalk to bring in business and was happy to corral us inside. he was the most attentive service we got all night. our server was super nice but not very attentive, it was easy to flag her down for anything we needed but she was often just nowhere to be seen. the wait was like 40min even for drinks and apps but once it was here most of it was pretty tasty. warnings i'll give are our conch fritters were soggy and cakey, not very tasty, and the jerk chicken comes drowned in this glossy grocery store tasting barbecue sauce. but the regular chicken was good, the rice is well seasoned, the coleslaw is actually pretty nice, and the fried conch is great.

overall wouldnt go back cause good food can be found all around but with...
