Went here for lunch! 👇🏻items we tried:
1️⃣ Tuna Mayo Kimbap 💸 price : 550 Had high expectations for this one, especially since it looked good in the menu pictures. However, was disappointed with how it tasted. Something was wrong with the balance of the kimbap fillings, making it too sweet. Also did not enjoy the texture, felt too mushy. I do have to say, the quantity was good for the price nonetheless. 💓 personal rating : 3/10
2️⃣ Chicken Ganjeong 💸 price : 450 Quantity was great for the price. This was decent taste-wise, slightly sweet and spicy. Very soft cubes of chicken thigh, cooked well. 💓 personal rating : 7/10
3️⃣ Deep-fried Shrimp 💸 price : 450 The shrimps were very crispy and crunchy, however it had no seasoning. The white chips it accompanied were tastier than the main item but I guess you could get those chips elsewhere for like 30-40 taka so did not enjoy this item at all unfortunately. 💓 personal rating : 3/10
4️⃣ Cheese Tteokbokki 💸 price : 600 This was the best item of the day. They seemed to nail every aspect of the dish. It was flavorful, the rice cakes cooked perfectly, topped with a generous amount of cheese. Will recommend getting this one if you're visiting! 💓 personal rating : 9/10
⚠️ All the items came with the same side dishes of pickled yellow + white radish and kimchi. However, according to the menu they were supposed to come with a vegetable soup which they unfortunately ran out of that day.
🌟 Service : It seems the servers still need some training. We went around a time when the restaurant had very little customers. When enquiring about some of the dishes, the servers seemed very confused. After ordering we waited for more than 45 minutes only to realize people arriving after us were getting their food and not us. Later we found out the server forgot to tell the chef to make our food lol. The owner did come over and apologize to us afterwards but we went during peak lunch time and were super hungry so the delay was painful haha. Overall, had a very mediocre experience with average food, missing items and late service ; which sucks cause we were really looking forward to...
Read moreKimbap House in Banani is truly a gem for authentic Korean cuisine in Dhaka. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean, organized, and welcoming the restaurant felt. The interior is simple yet modern, with a cozy ambiance that makes it a perfect spot for both casual dining and family outings.
The staff deserve a special mention—they really know what they’re doing. They not only welcomed us warmly but also guided us through the menu, suggesting dishes and even advising us on the order in which to eat them for the best flavor experience. This thoughtful touch made the meal feel even more special and authentic.
What stood out to us was how family-friendly the restaurant is. They had sippy cups and tall chairs available for kids, which shows how considerate they are towards families dining in—a rare and very appreciated detail in many Dhaka restaurants.
For our meal, we ordered the Korean BBQ Chicken with Kimbap, Shin Ramen, and Cheese Tteokbokki. Each dish was bursting with flavor and tasted better than any other Korean food options we’ve tried in Dhaka so far. The BBQ chicken was perfectly marinated and juicy, the kimbap was fresh and well-balanced, the ramen had the right spice kick, and the cheese tteokbokki was rich, gooey, and addictive. Everything tasted freshly prepared and absolutely delicious.
On top of all that, they have a really fun and unique feature inside the restaurant—a little photo booth setup with a camera that instantly prints your picture in a custom template. You get the chance to use it when you receive a coupon after dining there. It’s a small but thoughtful touch that adds to the overall experience and makes your visit memorable.
All in all, Kimbap House Banani exceeded our expectations in every way: food, ambiance, service, and even family-friendliness. It’s not just another restaurant—it’s an experience. We’ll definitely be coming back again and again to enjoy their delicious...
