Lovely restaurant.

We booked it on Easter Monday for the dinner that evening and were lucky to get a table. When we arrived he remembered us and arranged for us to sit outside as soon as the other guests left (5mins after we arrived) as he knew we wanted to enjoy dinner with an outdoor table, really thoughtful.

The restaurant serves good solid portion sizes for dinner. It’s run by a husband and wife team who work hard and care, the food is really tasty. We both had the specials for dinner hence the white asparagus that was in season is in both photos.

The service was quick given there was only one person serving everyone. He even took a lovely photo of us and took his time to make the photo come out well.

Would definitely recommend this place.

Lastly- one tip, go for the tinned mackerel to share as a starter to nibble on something, it was really...

So I’m by myself in Bruges the day before Christmas Eve wanting to have a really good meal. According to a travel blog, Den Amand is considered one of the best restaurants in Bruges. Well, that blog was correct. I had fried brill with a huge portion of fresh — and I mean fresh — vegetables, and mashed potatoes. Everything was so fresh and the quality was second to none. I’m a little snobbish when it comes to quality and freshness, and this definitely met, if not exceeded my standards. Anyways, everything was incredibly tasty. The owner and his wife were so nice and made my experience here just wonderful. If they were open tonight (I’m glad they’re not because it’s Christmas Eve and they deserve to have a night off!) I would be eating there again! Thank you Den Amand for a wonderful meal and impeccable service! I hope to...

A beautiful, quiet, and small bistro tucked away from the main square of Bruges. The food was absolutely exceptional, think grandmother's cooking but elevated. We ordered the special duck and the chateaubriand. The duck came rare, with a thick dark meaty jus, with an array of different vegetables, a mound of sautéed chanterelle mushrooms, and potato croquettes (plus extra on the side!). The steak was good with a creamy peppercorn sauce. Excellent and friendly service they gave us extra paprika crackers and a little olive pate at the beginning. Portions were very generous and we were stuffed afterwards! Would recommend getting in early for lunch as they only can do so many covers with just a small two...

I wanted to love this place. It’s mentioned in Rick Steve’s book but it just didn’t hit the mark. The food was ok. My husband and his friend had a pasta dish that looked so unappealing. I had naan and toppings and soup. It was good. My friend had a salad. She said it was good. What I found frustrating was that although we were 4 of maybe 10 people there for lunch it took over an hour to get our food. The service was so slow. Also, I had placed my water bottle on the table at some point and the gentleman serving us abruptly told me I can’t drink my own water!! I wasn’t -I just didn’t want my bottle on the ground. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
