This is a pretty restaurant, but the food is very average. And the service left a lot to be desired. For an "Italian" restaurant there was a very limited Pizza selection, so I asked the waitress before ordering whether I could order a vegan pizza but with regular mozzarella not vegan cheese. She said this was OK. When the pizza came, I knew immediately that it was vegan cheese and flagged it with the waitress who assured me that it was regular cheese. I took one bite which confirmed that it was in fact vegan cheese, before the waitress came and asked if she could take the pizza away to check with the chef. To be fair she came back to apologise, that it had been made with vegan cheese, and that I would have to wait for another one to be made. I didn't mind this at all, mistakes happen. Meanwhile, my husband had ordered wedges as a side, these tasted like the cheapest frozen wedges you buy in your local supermarket, and should probably have been cooked for longer. When the next pizza arrived, it was not what I had originally ordered, missing a few of the listed toppings, although it now had regular mozzarella. I didn't want to wait again for another pizza so I just ate it. I would say quite tasteless really. Nobody came by and asked if all was okay while I ate, so when the bill arrived I saw I had been charged for what I had originally ordered, and asked to check the menu (I was pretty sure of the ingredients I hadn't got, but wanted to be fully sure). When I flagged this, I was fobbed off with "when we don't have fried onions available we just use spring onions" , there were no onions of any variety on this pizza. The manager even managed to say "Was that the most delicious food?" as he took full payment. Talk about trying to put words into a customer's mouth! No it was not the most delicious food. Full disclaimer: we were given a shot of limoncello as an apology...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible service and no customer focus. I have seen such an attitude to visitors in cheap eateries, but not in restaurants with such a rating. My wife and I went in and ordered two dishes - after which we were asked about drinks and we said we hadn't made a decision yet. After 10 minutes the waitress, who spoke English rather badly, came back with a question about drinks and on our answer that we didn't want to drink, said that we had to take drinks with our meal. After long attempts to understand her speech it turned out that this is an unspoken rule of this particular restaurant. No apologies were said or attempts were made to meet visitors who had already ordered food for 15 minutes. In my opinion, this is not a matter of money, but of approach and attitude to customers. Then they would say that the bill includes a 30% tip and it is also an unspoken rule? Anyway, I do not recommend you to visit this restaurant with an inflated rating and zero service, especially if not all and all of you want to eat main dishes and...
Read moreAVOID this restaurant like the plague. They have horrible service and ridiculous rules. We tried to order 2-4 appetizers and drinks for a party of two. The waiter rudely chastised us, saying “that is not possible; everyone needs to order a main course” and that “we are a restaurant” and “do not just serve just appetizers and drinks to share.” He said we could do that at a bar but not at their restaurant. We promptly left.
I should have looked at other reviews before coming here. Apparently, they require every single person at the table to order both a main course AND a drink. Otherwise, the waiter will say “that is not possible” and ask the entire party to leave. Many other people have been kicked out of this restaurant after just one person in their party didn’t order a drink and/or a main course!
I have been to dozens of 1 and 2 Michelin Star restaurants that don’t even have rules like this place. This place is just a local, average restaurant and they need to know...
