CASCO — Restaurant in Brussels

Went at the very beginning of “happy hour” must check in and pay at the bar before sitting, we sat outside for 20 min with employees walking around before I just went inside to figure out how to order

Happy hour is first 5 mixed drinks on the menu at discount (I paid 8euros for a 12 euro drink) also draft beers are at a discount- not all beers. I got a mojito and if I had paid full price I would have been very disappointed, there was just a pile of sugar in the bottom with some barely muddled mint, it was okay after sitting and stirring/ crushing for 10 min, ice was also a bit old.

Chicken Philly and classic Philly were both very yummy and frites and sauce were also good. Overall if you are out with friends and familiar with the place it’s not too bad prices for Brussels, but they really let us down with drinks. I first tried a burger from Casco at their 2023 Xmas market stand. I found it really amazing (one of the best I have had in Brussels) and went there 3 times just to eat that. Then a few days ago I tried the same burger at their actual restaurant. Unfortunately, this was a totally different experience. The burger was at best average, not to mention that it was not really hot, it felt like it was prepared 15' before served. Also the ingredients felt of lower quality (or were prepared with less skills) than what I had tried at the Xmas market. The fries that came with it were also really average and not really hot. I ordered a simple order of fries to go and had to wait almost half an hour. I approached 3 workers, and none of them were able to provide me with any information regarding the order. I received the order half an our later, a very small portion of cardboard-like fries. The fries were packed very poorly which made eating them a messy experience. Those fries were definitely not worth the 4 bucks that I paid for them, and the unexplainable long wait made my experience at this restaurant even worse.
