Gecko Brunch & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Brussels

We went here on a Friday evening based on the pictures and reviews. Our experience was a very different scene than we imagined from the pictures. A very tired place with almost no people. Loud pop from Scooter, Ace of Base and other 90's gems. No charm or coziness. The waitress didn't even get up when we got in just shouted hello from where she was surfing on her mobile on a table in the back. We were not impressed and will not return. Maybe it used to be something else but went...

We had a fabulous time at Gecko Bar!!! The owner was an extraordinary host and the cocktails are perfect (also pricewise). The location in the city centre is easy to find and in a not too noisy street with the possibility to visit the beautifully lit Grand-Place (a must see especially by night). We had awesome conversations with the host and other guests, and the general atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. We ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND...

Impeccable service -- likes of which we haven't experienced in Belgium before. The professionality, passion, and skill of this one waiter working there was unheard of. While watching him work, you feel the joy of seeing someone doing his job seriously.
