Food is bad. We were with a group and everyone with the pasta got sick. The photo’s have been take after the meal. As you can see, no one with the pasta finished their meal. When we told the staff, they got really defensive about it and would not even attempt to come to an agreement with us. We wanted to discuss the price as we did not want any dessert, because we had lost faith in the quality of the food and the food that was served did not meet reasonable expectations (as people got sick). Then they held us against our will. They were hostile. They yelled. Whomever reads this, please do not visit this place. I would not recommend. Reaction on the comment below: Three things: First of all, we arrived with a smaller group and told staff beforehand. When we arrived, we did not ask for a discount, but we asked to pay only for the food that we got served for the smaller group of people. We did so in a polite manner. Second of all, your reaction seems to disregard the fact that all the people that got the same dish got sick. Later on the evening some of us threw up. It is not normal to get sick from food that you are being served. Because the food dit not meet reasonable expectations, we asked for a discount. We never intended to pay nothing at all. Third of all, the way the staff handled the situation was hostile to say the least. At one point staff just took one person apart and started yelling at her, when she simply wanted to resolve the problem. At another point someone was forcefully taken by the arm. In conclusion: To say that your service is good would be a lie. I still have hope that we can resolve this issue. Please contact us if you are willing to resolve this matter as well. Thank you in advance.

I was on a short, solo trip to Belgium, and I was staying in Brussels and exploring a different city each day. This day, I decided to check out the main plaza and try a new restaurant I was wanting to eat traditional flemmish food, and for whatever reason, this place seemed like a good bet. It was very crowded in the summer, so I had to choose based on what was available, no wait, and what "looked good". After an hour's walk, and checking countless menus, I ended up here, and with no regrets! I ate outside to enjoy the sunlight and upcoming sunset. I didn't feel odd to be alone, and I was not treated worse for being a solo traveler. I was given a nice corner table on the patio, an had a fantastic view of the square, and got to people watch my whole meal! The food was delicious, and it was not an overly large portion. It as enough to stuff me but let me walk comfortably back to my hotel! I got a Flemish chicken stew, in a white creamy sauce, and it was divine. I couldn't tell you what was in it- just meat, potatoes, and this amazing sauce. I ate everything! The price was reasonable, especially for a busy city center at the height of summer on a weekend. It was one of my favorite meals in this country- although, I have to admit, every meal was "my favorite". Since it is so centrally located, I had a very short walk to see some famous sculptures, murals, and just explore!

Randomly selected this restaurant as this is the only restaurant that is not crowded (it was 9pm and other restaurants nearby were full) in the Grand Palace. We opted this place to have a meal while enjoying the sunset view (the whole square were in golden color, highly recommend to visit here for the sunset!). We ordered a few dishes (mussels, pasta, stew seafood, no beef/ other meat) and overall those were quite good. (Surprisingly to read some bad comments when doing this review). The downsides are i) the staff response is a bit slow (ordered few times to get the extra cutlery); ii) took a bit long time to get the food served (waited almost half an hour) as there were not much customers after the order took; iii) they strictly don’t allowed customers to bring own water and drink in the restaurant (yes, they don’t serve tap water..).

We had an opportunity to eat here with a group of about 100 people. We were seated on two upper floors with a great view of the main square. To start we were presented with bread in a basket to share per table. We discovered there were not enough pieces of bread for everyone. There were 5 pieces of bread for 8 people. When we asked for more bread the waitress told us that there was no more bread.

We were given a choice of a drink, either water or beer. I chose water as we were walking for most of the day and it was quite hot outside. I was given about 250ml of water to go with my meal. That did not last for long and we decided to get two bottles of water to share with the table. The bill for two 1L bottles of water came to 16 Euro. We decided not to get any more.

It took at least an hour for the drink orders to be filled and before the appetizers were served. It was some kind of warm cheese with a small salad. Once our floor was served, the waitresses were nowhere to be seen on our floor for at least 30 min. After that they came and cleared the dishes and were away again. Later we found out that there were only two waitresses serving 2 floors and 100 people. The restaurant knew that we would be eating with the group well in advance of our trip. It makes no sense that the restaurant would not staff more people unless it is just pure greed and exploitation of staff.

By the time the main dish came in we were already sitting at the restaurant for 2 hours. The main dish was beef stew with fries, so nothing fancy. After we ate the food and the dishes were cleared, some of the people at our table decided that 3 hours in a restaurant was too much and they opted out from dessert and left. The dessert was a Chocolate Mousse which I personally found too sweet and rich to finish.

I left disappointed about the meal, which we later found out was about €45 a la carte, and more than 3 hours wasted sitting and waiting for it to come. I would rather have spent the time exploring the city.

It is also worth mentioning that the building is in a state of immediate renovation. Paint peeling off the ceiling and a tarp hung over it so that nothing falls into the plates does not look appealing.

I do not plan to...

This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to! The service was poor, the atmosphere was horrendous. Crowded and we were left at a table by ourselves when we were amongst our tour group. The waitress served my chicken dish, but never brought my husband‘s mussels. He was the only one Out of 42 people that sat there without his dinner. The waitress continued to go around and ask people for their second drink, which, by the way she never asked us. The bathrooms are filthy, and many of our friends on the tour agreed and mentioned it to me as well. I heard the muscles were horrible., The salad was something that was taken out of a bag. The waitress could hardly apologize when I finally got up and indicated to her that my husband had never received his meal. It’s a shame that we were putting in a table and left unattended as well. I think the seating upstairs for 44 people was not suitable as well. I’m thoroughly disgusted as this was our last night with our tour group and never got to say goodbye. Our tour director felt He called a taxi for us and we left for the hotel without even saying goodbye to our friends. This is because of the humiliation and upset that we both by the Poor service we received. The manager tried to smooth things over by offering my husband a shot of whiskey. That did not go over well. That’s not what we wanted to happen. It’s a shame our last night and probably last memory will be of such a terrible, disappointing...
