I felt I was not welcomed to this restaurant.
I almost never give a bad review to the places that I go, even if something fails sometimes, but in this case the 1 star is fair because the employers were unpolite, cold, and a not helpful.
I entered the restaurant tried to find a place to seat and no employee was able to come near me and help me, and we are talking about a small restaurant. The employees were talking laught and did not pay attention to the clients who were arriving.
One employee said it was very hot upstairs inside the restaurant, but I think he was saying this for us not to stay in the restaurant because there was some people in the upper part of the restaurant. If he was indeed trying to help, I am sorry but you did not seem very kind when speaking in my personal opinion.
There was an empty table near them, but they neither were polite enough to say that we could seat. I needed to ask if I could seat.
The employee who came to our table said every meal would take not less that 30 minutes, even a pizza. I understand it's the end of Ramadan but is it not possible to cook one meal in less than 30 minutes? Is this a slow food restaurant? I can wait 30 minutes no problem, but if the employee is saying this like he wanted us to leave I will not give you a cent.
We were not here to be served by people who never give a smile back, never seemed to care for the customer and that are not able to prepare a meal in less than 30 minutes from a big menu in a small restaurant.
I left this restaurant sad, and with a bad impression that I was not welcomed.
Next time kindly try to be more regardful to your customer and hospitable to someone who is visiting your country.
This small experience I went through in your restaurant may give a bad impression of a country to a tourist. Fortunately, there were other places that I went in Sarajevo and outside who help to make up...
Read moreIt was an incredibly disappointing experience, making me question whether this restaurant even takes customer service seriously. When we entered, there was no staff in sight, and we had to wait for a long time before asking the chef where to sit ourselves. Even after sitting down, no one brought us a menu, so we had to find one ourselves and go down to call a server to take our order.
The ordering process was even more frustrating—the first time the server approached us, they simply told us that some dishes were unavailable, then immediately started cleaning the table next to us, completely ignoring the fact that we were still ordering. This kind of attitude shows a total lack of respect for customers. Not only was there no basic service awareness, but there was also a complete disregard for common courtesy.
A restaurant can survive with average food, but such poor service will drive customers away. If the management doesn’t improve, I doubt this place will retain its customers for long.
As a visitor to this country, I will say Drevi is better. Food is not bad, but service is the...
Read moreIf you are looking to ruin your day and your Sarajevo experience, Barhana is the place. I am a local and I have always loved this quaint corner of the old town. Whilst the food is usually good, especially anything from the wood fired oven, their service has been in decline over the years and has become APPALLING. The same extremely rude waiters, unbothered, uninterested and sometimes I am sure high on some sort of substance- because that kind of behaviour is beyond anything remotely normal and acceptable.I believe the waiters might also be overworked and overwhelmed. I know Barhana counts on tourists and foreigners rather than the locals. Save yourself the nuisance and disrespect and go anywhere else but Barhana. Today after a highly unpleasant encounter we simply left, walked a few minutes to Dveri which were full as per usual but Dzenita next to Dveri had one table and was amazing with the most delicious local food and a good service despite the restaurant being full and with one waiter only. I will certainly avoid Barhana...
