We have dined here twice for lunch, which is why I believe my assessment of the service is valid. We ordered begova corba and klepe; particularly, the klepe was excellent. The portions are quite generous, so sharing would be advisable. However, the service is notably slow.
During our first visit, the restaurant was not busy at all. I noticed that our orders were ready sitting on the kitchen window, but the waiters took a lot of time serving them, despite there being only three occupied tables. Unfortunately, our food was served cold.
Despite this, we returned due to our liking for the klepe. On our second visit, the restaurant was full, so it was understandable that our orders took longer; we placed them at least an hour after being seated. However, when the waiter brought our food, I requested a beer, but he dismissed me, saying 'not now.' I waited for a free moment, but he didn't return. After finishing our meal, our table remained uncleared for at least half an hour, and other tables also awaited cleaning. This delay prevented new guests from being seated promptly.
In my opinion, the restaurant seems understaffed. Even during their quieter times, they did not prioritize order accuracy. If you're considering trying it out, go ahead, but don't expect top-notch service; there are better options available for your money's...
Read moreDzenita offers a huge menu of Bosnian dishes in a casual setting right in the old town of Sarajevo. There’s nothing complicated or sophisticated about the food here—it’s rustic home cooking done right! They offer small portions of a few of their dishes (making them perfect for sharing), and we started with the Klepe, which were small pastas with meat filling, served in broth and topped with a dollop of yogurt. We also had the Cuftete u Sosu, which were flat meatballs covered with tomato sauce and served with rice. From the grill section of the menu, we ordered the Pastrmka, which were two whole trouts, grilled and served with fries, boiled potatoes topped with chopped onions, tomatoes, ajvar (eggplant pepper paste), and yellow mustard. I couldn’t believe the value we got for the price of this dish—two whole fish for 16 KM (about $8)! We also got a simple mixed salad on the side (cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers), along with a basket of chewy flatbread, which went nicely with all the different dishes. Though there was nothing fancy about the food here, the portion sizes and the value were...
Read moreI have just experienced the most distasteful service I have ever had in Sarajevo. Our family reserved a table to a lunch and table was waiting of us, al right. And thats all good thins happened. It looks like one waiter was working and he was totally lost. We were woting for him to take order for quite some time. In the meantime he was rushing beside us frw times leaving outside door open letting freezing rain showering us. My son had to close doors to save us and others Qhen he fonally came to take order, we started with ordering only for hom to leave us in the middle of the order (one minute passed) as he was called from (i fsuppose, some much more important guests in object next to ours), and of course left doors open again. Upon returning , he didnt bother to finish taking order from us but went of ashtray and mumbled to us something through the teeth and get outside to next object to deliver mentioned ashtray. Guess what of he left doors open again. Yep. And thats it, we thanked him for 15 minutes of intermittent cold showers and no...
