Apr 2025 Sorry for a really late review.
This is a small restaurant located in a small community called LangKa Lane. (The road to go in is small, kinda hard to find. But you can locate it by looking for a lot of restaurant signs that advertise at the entrance). This is a Mediterranean restaurant called Boma, owned by a foreigner, I believe. If you want to try something new, which you should, then I really recommend this one.
Food: They have a variety of food, and new to my eyes(I forget to photo the menu). I ordered a beef skewers set, and it was crunchy with honey (Sorry I don’t have a menu, so I don’t know the name). crunchy fried dough with honey is delicious. The more you eat the more you like it (addicted). As an Asian, to eat it like dinner is not for me, but a snack “YES”. But still the flavour is good, the honey cream sauce is good. Beef skewers set is good, three types of meat with a variety of flavour with Mediterranean ingredients, two types of sausage, three types of sauce, and a dough to eat with. The flavour is light, but strong in the herb as well as the smell of the herb. The herb is a bit difference from Asian herb for me is ok, but my friend said No (In khmer we call ទ្រលាន់, it kinda like you eat it then you can’t eat it anymore because you feel full, even you are not full), but to me I like it even though it not used to what we ate. I want to say it is a bit pricey, but I am not familiar with the ingredients so it is hard for me to judge.
Service: They are friendly, the service is fast, but late since it is a small restaurant and has two floors as well which leads to slow service sometimes, but it’s ok.
Atmosphere: Extra credit points to them. This is a very small space, yet the way that they design is so beautiful, eye-catching, and unique. The indoor decoration is also beautiful. Their bathroom is clean and smells good, but kinda too strong. It hit my nose so hard, I almost couldn't breathe (that won’t be good for some people). They have a physical menu, and an Ipad menu. They don’t use tissues here, which is environmentally friendly, good.
Note: It is a small valley, So I really recommend you to ride a taxi if you can or moto....
Read moreI went to Boma while looking for vegetarian options and killing some time before meeting friends at nearby Bassac Lane. I’m not vegetarian, but sometimes crave that style of cuisine, especially in Mediterranean form.
The restaurant is very nicely put together. The design uses a beige, brown, and cream pallet throughout, there are plenty of throw pillows on the seating, and there are two stories, joined by a spiral staircase. The bottom floor has A/C and is reserved for larger parties (I believe), while the top floor has ceiling fans, it’s own bathroom, and is where single or duo diners are seated.
I ordered a Greek salad and a falafel bowl. The salad was fresh, well-dressed, and very tasty. The falafel bowl was simple but effective. The hummus was obviously made in-house, and the falafel had a crispy exterior and a plump inside. My only criticism of the food is that the portions were ~15% too small. I’d actually rather pay $1 more for 15% more food.
Finally, the service was very good. The wait staff was very friendly and easygoing, and their was a hospitality manager who came by and asked me my opinion of everything. I found the experience welcoming and homey.
On a random side note, the bathroom door on the top floor is unexpectedly heavy. I feel like women might have to really throw their weight at it to move it. I know this is a very random point, but it’s...

Their hummus was light yet flavorful, served with nicely baked pita bread. We had the grilled meat platter for two pax; the chicken and beef were tender and juicy while the beef & pork combo was on the dryer side compared to the other meats, but taste-wise, they were equally delicious. We also ordered their new dish, couscous with merguez, lamb meat and lamb soup. Everything was well seasoned and well cooked.
The staff were very friendly and also enthusiastic to explain and recommend their dishes to us.
However, the reservation system needs to be improved as we tried to book a table via social media but did not receive a response until much later than our intended visit, so we simply walked in instead. Additionally, they have an outdoor spiral stair connecting to the upper floor seating area which was very small in width and it was also very slippery due to the rain; one of their staff even fell at one point. It is a bit of a safety hazard.
Overall, good food, great service but certain aspects of the restaurant can still be improved. Worth a visit if you’re looking for a different...
