We had walked by a few days ago and I did like the design from afar. Close up, it was even better, exactly my sort of style: clean, happy (can a restaurant be happy?), giving off beach vibes and not cluttered with stuff.
We were quickly given the menus, the food menu is not very extensive. We decided to take the seafood platter for four people at $49.00. The Missus and the kids went for various juices at $3.50 and it was a $3.50 Angkor Beer for me. The drinks arrived quickly, and we settled in to wait for the food.
We did get an appetizer of Krupuk while we waited. I am no fan of Krupuk, it is a tasteless, oily cracker and these ones were no different.
And wait we did! It took a full 50 minutes for the seafood platter to arrive. The very friendly and well-trained staff said it had to do something with starting the BBQ. Not sure about that as there were other guests that had arrived before us and were eating what appeared to be grilled seafood.
The platter looked very appetizing, but it is nowhere near enough for four people. Neither my daughter nor I ate (except to try), it was just the Missus and her kids eating, and none of them had enough. The food was proclaimed as very good. Not overcooked and fresh, and the condiments that came with it were also nice though too spicy for the family.
We will certainly be back, I like the vibes of the restaurant, the service is great, and the food tasty. But next time, we will probably order two platters. I should mention that the platters came without condiments, what you see in my photo is all you get. I also should mention that we got a 10% discount, though I am not sure if that was a pre-opening offer or because we had to wait...
Read moreI visited this restaurant twice, and while I would recommend it for the atmosphere and food, my experience was marred by poor service. During my second visit, I felt unwelcome, which negatively impacted what could have been an enjoyable gathering. To be fair, the service from the rest of the staff was fine. However, one individual—a middle-aged Cambodian woman—stood out for all the wrong reasons. Despite having a reservation, we were seated at a table that was too small and cramped between other tables. When we requested to move, her response was unwelcoming, accompanied by an unpleasant gesture and remark. I understand that servers sometimes try to upsell, but her approach was overly pushy. She also disregarded our requests; for example, we asked for our tuna to be cooked well-done, but it was served medium-rare. When we asked for it to be cooked further, she insisted it wouldn’t taste good well-done, rather than accommodating our preference. Overall, the experience left me uncomfortable, and unfortunately, I won’t...
Read moreChecked out this new cute spot with my friend the other day. The place is rather small and cozy, with options of sitting inside and outside. The prices are affordable, they have a menu with pictures as well. The staff is not yet very experienced but friendly. Me and my friend ordered tuna steak and white fish steak. It came out just warm and got cold very fast. Taste was mild, the default sauce was kind of spicy and didn’t match fish flavor in my opinion. As an alternative I was offered mayo only. For a dessert we got grilled mango with sorbet. Is basically fresh mango, there was no grilled flavor in taste at all, but the ripe mango with a sour sorbet scoop can’t be bad, right? I surprisingly liked Pineapple Inferno mocktail a lot, it was outstanding! Served beautifully, it tasted really good with a little spicy notes. They offer an umbrella service to the main road for you if you’re leaving during the rain, it was very...
