Food is not the problem for this place. It’s pretty good, the cup bab bowl has great portions.
That being said, there’s some stuff I noticed after going there three times.
They’ve been steadily increasing prices over time, kind of sneakily. The large cup bab bowl went from 9.99 to 11.99, but they still haven’t updated it on their TV menu. In fact, none of their price increases have been updated. Only once I was rung up was I informed. Not happy about that. Price increases are fine and understandable (especially as a new place and COVID), but please make it clear. This past week some of the meat inaris increased, so I wont be surprised if things keep increasing.
I would like to call out there food safety/hygiene as well. Ryan Li’s review of this place is 100% true, the lady who wears a bandana was eating food WHILE making the inari. No glove change, no hand wash. It’s clear that it’s a habit, which is a huge problem, she needs to be informed of it ASAP. Some of the staff weren’t wearing masks 100% of the time, so that needs to be addressed.
Good food, but be careful. I would like to see...
Read moreOne of my favorite local spots that has a fun mix of sushi/inari style....reminds me of a sushi cone, but instead of seawood it's wish soft tofu
My personal favorites are Aburi Salmon, Grilled Scallop, Teriyaki Beef/Chicken, Spam, Crab Meat and Unagi. My wife loves the Masago, Corn Salad and Seawood ones too
They do not have any "bulk purchase" that I'm aware of, but I usually grab 4 to 6 pieces and can definitely help be a good full meal
They also occasionally have teriyaki beef or teriyaki chicken rice bowls. They don't always have it, but when they do, for $6.99 can't go wrong
If you do go and their stock looks "empty", they can always make fresh ones
Always a pleasure to hit the spot, and purely for takeout as no dine-in options...be mindful of the semi "shared" parking lot as Henderson Plaza shares a parking lot with the Library...but if you park at the library and go to Henderson Plaza or vice versa, I've heard of people getting...
Read moreThis place is great for a quick snack, since you can only get take-out here anyways! I tried the chopped scallop, aburi salmon, and spicy tuna; chopped scallop was my favorite (…thank you for the advice, previous Google reviewers 😂). However, I do have to admit, I was secretly tempted to just eat the yummy toppings and leave a large portion of the plain rice on the bottom. The inari is almost like a giant nigiri sushi except it’s wrapped in the sweet tofu wrap; I personally felt like there was too much rice in proportion to the toppings (but that may be in reference to eating inari, in general, and not specific to Sushi Tree 😇). Also, it’s ~$4/per inari, but I felt like I probably needed to eat about 4 of these to be full, because each are pretty light, despite all the rice. In summary, I would probably get this again for a quick snack if I happened to be in the area, but I probably wouldn’t make a trip specifically for it; decent...
