I’m here to refute the claim that there are rice noodles in their rolls. We came in on a Wednesday night because there weren’t many places open past 11 pm. My husband and I were a little hesitant after reading all these horrible reviews. First and foremost, the miso soup included with the meal was not only free, but also carried a lot flavour. I would’ve preferred it scalding hot, but it was still enjoyable none the less. The salmon sashimi was sooo good. It’s the one thing we consistently order at sushi restaurants and it was not only a decent price, it was a decent portion. The chicken karaage we could’ve done without. Then we had the crazy boy rolls. They did appear to have some string-like ingredients, but honestly it must’ve been a form of imitation crabmeat because it sure tasted like it. It also didn’t have the same texture as rice noodles (Have you ever had fresh noodles? It was truly not the same.). Anyway, it would be a lot of work to use rice noodles to stuff rolls. Why not just use more rice? Lastly, service was really good and the food came out quickly. Try this place out for yourself like we did. I would come back for the sashimi. Edit: Some other reviewer suggested that I was paid to write this review. That would’ve been great, but nope, didn’t get paid. Also, I haven’t been back, but I would be interested in trying this place again and do a better inspection of the “rice noodles” in the rolls.

I stopped in for a quick bite of nigiri on a Monday afternoon. The server was quick to help me and very pleasant. I noticed a baby stroller and heard a few yelps from a young child, but assumed it was a customers child. After I ordered (salmon, hamachi, tuna, toro) I continued to hear a baby even though I was the only one there. The baby was starting to grate on a nerve, but as a parent I remember many times I wished my children would be quiet in a restaurant. It turns out the child was in the back with the server! Once I realized this I got really frustrated that the owners are subjecting their customers to their crying baby. I started a business with two babies at home but my wife and I had to alternate to take care of the children while the other worked, and I can't believe this family brings their infant to the restaurant. I would never bring a friend here for this reason alone, but the food wasn't great either. The hamachi never came because it was still frozen and not ready for service. No big deal, I got more toro. The nigiri was really inconsistent in it's size (long thin ends on the salmon), but they were all quite tough. The toro especially was a bit snappy, which is exactly what you don't want in toro. The tuna was the best, but still not very good texture. Prices are reasonable but I don't think I'll be back.

The restaurant was kinda nice and it was clean and our server was very kind. BUT the food was terrible! And the wait was SO LONG considering we were the only people there. I heard the microwave constantly going off so I figured they were reheating food in it. The edamame clearly nuked in the microwave, the shrimp for the Dynamite Rolls microwaved as well and the gyoza, also microwaved. You could just tell the food wasn’t fresh. The spicy salmon roll was odd and it was doused in franks red or some sort of hot sauce which was new to me. I didn’t finish my meal at all and I was scared of getting sick. I personally will not be returning to this restaurant.

Our family came to Kabuki the 2nd time after 3 years. I still remember our first time eating here was great. The owners and staff were Japanese and all of them greeted you, the Japanese style. That was something you can only experience in the Authentic Japanese restaurants in the big cities. The food was excellent and different from the other Chinese-Japanese restaurant nearby. It got my 5-star. Three years ago.

Today we come to a quiet restaurant. It changed so much I thought we walked into another restaurant. There was a stroller with a small baby inside. At first, I thought he was another customers' kid. It turns out he was the owner's kid. As a young parent myself, I understand the hardship of raising a small child. But if you decide to bring your child to your workplace, please be aware that your customers need your attention and your service. I saw the husband make the food and wife hold the kid, then pass the kid to the husband to deliver food to the customer's table. I thought tonight is the one time thing but other reviews proven me wrong. We ordered 2 appertisers, 3 rolls, 1 nigiri and after 1 hour later, we only had our appertisers and 1 rolls. Not to mention that the shrimp tempura has a muddy uncooked taste. I saw them focus more on the skipthedishes orders. There were skip guys walking in and out non-stop and we were sitting here wondering when they would pay attention to us. Since we were sitting down, they wouldn't think we have to gut to leave. Until my wife had it and asked to leave. We were reasonable enough to say that any dishes were being made for us at that moment would be takeout and we would pay for them. They made the rest of our order in 10 mins. The skip guy didn't look too happy because they made him wait to make our food. To be fair, they made us wait for an hour. We left the restaurant with boxes of takeout food, hunger and frustration. I cannot find a positive experience today. It's one star and never return for me.

To the owners, if you are reading this, please bring the old glory back. I hate to see an Authentic restaurant go under. You don't need SkiptheDishes to eat up your profit and tie you into a position where you have to keep up with them to stay afloat. You need to maintain the food quality and move to a location with more parking. The reason why Kyoto next door is busier because they have more parking than yours. Your food was the best. If you cannot find a babysitter, then one of you have to make a difficult choice to stay with your kids at home. Motivated staff will make customers coming back. People go to a Japanese restaurant for the Far East fine dining experience. Please don't downgrade your food with...

I came here with a large party a few hours before closing. Although the food was delicious the way we were treated was so awful I’ll never return. The waitress was very rude from the very beginning but we brushed it off. Someone spilled water on the table and the waitress was irritated we needed more than one piece of paper for the mess. She gave us a rag to use instead and didn’t even offer to help. Both of which we also took in stride as it could just be a bad day for her and we did complicate her job. It took about an hour to get our food out which is expected with a large party. I went to the back to ask about a roll for my friend as she had been sitting there well after we had all finished eating waiting for her roll. I understood and was gracious about it. The staff misunderstood and made 2 rolls instead of just the one we ordered. When I clarified the mistake she had the audacity to roll her eyes at me. At this point I could not excuse her behaviour because I told her I was making sure they remembered my FREINDS roll not “I want to order another roll”, and even with the confusion I could have taken the extra roll home but she left no room for conversation in such a rude way. As much as I enjoyed the food this lack of care for customer experience and downright rudeness was enough to make sure I never return and tell everyone to stay away from...
