Terrible service! We went in and ordered a 2 person Korean BBQ with 2 different meats, veggies, and lettuce. They brought out our food, and only gave 1 set of tongs, so we had to ask for second pair, as you shouldn't use tongs to pick up raw meat on your cooked meat/veggies. There was no apology or any words said when asked. They give very little veggies ... they gave us 6 pieces of onion, 2 pieces of peppers and 2 other types of veggies and 1 piece of zucchini, and 1 piece of sweet potato that was completely rotten. Which having been here prior was a disappointment as they usually gave lots of veggies. The waitress never brought us water and no way to ask, as they only pay attention to other Asian customers, so if you aren't Asian don't expect any customer service (this has nothing to do with race but rather an observation of the other tables around us and the poor serive we were blatenly given). The waitress grabbed the empty plates off our table as fast as she could without muttering a word, and not once asked how our food was. We then waited 15 minutes for our bill with a cleared table. Will not be back, and suggest going to a different Korean BBQ!
EDIT: As per their response you can see this place is absolutely disgusting! It is not listed anywhere that we could recieve more vegetables nor were told about it. As well, if they believe that 1 pair of tongs used for raw meat, as well as vegetables and cooked meat is acceptable, I can't begin to comprehend the horrors in their kitchen. It also states in the menu they are suppose to tell you when the meat is cooked (most likely for food safety measures and it has to occur) and they did not come back to tell us, not that I'd trust their judgment based on there other DISGUSTING standards. Do not eat here, and we have reported this establishment to food safety Nova soctia as this is...
ย ย ย Read moreA friend and I tried here for lunch on a rainy Thursday at noon. We may have been the first customers of the day and got street parking on the next block. We walked in and were greeted within a minute and told we could take whichever booth we wanted out of the maybe dozen they have? Simple atmosphere with some clear partitions up (covid), fair bit of natural lighting coming in. Friendly service. Neither myself or my friend have much experience with Korean food, and are both trying to eat a bit lighter these days, so wanted to avoid anything too heavy or fried. He went with their L3 lunch special: Bul-go-gi Dup-bap (rice covered with marinated beef & veg. 9.99) which came in a bowl. He found it bland but edible, not adding any of the extras provided on a sharing tray (four items that I didn't even know what they are, but added to my meal). Tried the L11: Dol-dot BiBimBap (rice topped with various cooked veg and egg in a hot stone bowl - chicken added). The veg included spiralized zucchini and grated carrot that I could tell, with also a noodle, topped with a sprinkle of sesame seed on the egg. 11.99). The bowl itself was very simple and I enjoyed it enough, but I used a fair bit of the sauce that the staff brought with it in a bottle (their sweet sauce?) which provided some heat and flavor, upping the dish from ok to good. I'd definitely come back here, but would prefer to tag along with friends who are more familiar with Korean food, and then try small bits of different dishes to see what they all are. Generally I am not a lover of cabbage or pickled/fermented anything, so I may be limited with this genre of food, and that is no fault of the restaurant obviously. Trying to watch caloric intake was a limiting factor as well, so I assume if it was a free for all of the menu, there would be a...
ย ย ย Read moreI was craving some Korean bbq, found this place on google and visited Halifax specially for this restaurant and it happened to be the best discovery I made. I was super impressed with their staff who always came to you with a smile on their face, their service was impressive, always checking in on you, the quality of the food was just outstanding and not to forget the taste , I was so impressed with my first time here that I went in again for lunch the next day , I HAD TO!!! The Korean bbq for one was the perfect size ; not too much and not too less. All the meat was fresh and welll seasoned. The miso soup was so warm and comforting. It came with so many side dishes ( Banchan is what they call it)which were so incredible, you can tell that a lot of love and effort is put into everything nuthatch is served at your table. The next day for lunch I had to try their special and famous pork bone soup, OH MY GOODNESS, I sat there devouring the pork bone for nearly an hour, and the best part-they have private booths so I could save myself the embarrassment while licking my fingers, it was so soft and tender and full of flavor , I am so going back again, the owners were so kind too , she offered me a free grape drink and I would definitely recommend this place, if you want good authentic Korean food , this is the place, I promise you wonโt be...
