First of all this isn't authentic , I asked for a shawerma, the guy in there didn't even ask me what I wanted in it, all of a sudden he made it with all the toppings. And when I told him I don't eat it that way , he didn't want to put any of the toppings that I want. I literally wanted 2 toppings and garlic sauce, he literally made it loud and clear he doesn't have fries, despite it being in the menu lol. It was extremely obvious he doesn't want to do it because he just doesn't feel like it. When I saw the attitude, I just took it and walked off. There is no point in arguing when you can clearly see the staff member doesn't want to help.
Additionally when I called them to voice my concern right after I left, they did offer to make a new one but when I told them the shawerma is cold, they said they don't have a toaster to heat the sandwiches. Who puts lettuce and tomatoes in the shawerma, this is no where authentic! It's literally garlic sauce, fries and pickles and toasted. How hard is that?
If you want a sandwich filled with lettuce and tomatoes and other toppings just head to subway. At least they will...
Read moreHalogonians be warned that you're being scammed by being served overpriced so-called food Lebanese here. A place like this with its poor service and ridiculous portion-to-price ratio wouldn't survive in Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal - all cities I have lived in with proper shawarma joints. But this place touts itself as "award winning"!?
I went to the Barrington Street location and the staff are nice but have difficultly understanding simple questions or requests. I ordered a chicken shawarma and was shocked to see the meat doesn't come fresh cut the way it is in proper Lebanese places but from a container where it has sat for who knows how long - something I have experienced only in low quality Lebanese restaurants. Plus they were extremely cheap with the meat - it was mostly a lettuce wrap with a few scraps of chicken thrown in.
The clincher was the dude working there who had his mask hanging below his nose as he prepared food for people. I called him out on it and he was quick to fix it but this place is a joke. Maybe it's just this location but it's time Halifax stops accepting...
Read moreThey make wraps without asking what you want in it. I got told off for asking them make mine with ingredients I want because I cannot eat garlic and they automatically add garlic sauce in mine. they dont even acknowledge your presence so you’re not aware it’s your wrap until they hand it to you.
I was also told that in the future I “need to tell the cashier I want mine made differently”. What kind of customer service is that!? If it’s that important to your business model, your staff should ask the client, not the other way around.
I have lived in many parts of Canada, and this is the only Lebanese restaurant (chain or not) I have been to that acts like tailoring a wrap is unusual and warrants embarrassing a client at rush time in front of other clients.
Finally, the wrap is sad. It’s not toasted, there is barely any meat in it and you only have one choice of sauce. It’s disappointing and I will not...
