Don't go here for breakfast!
It appears from many reviews that the lunch/dinner menu consisting of Asian/Indian fusion is quite good, but their breakfast? I'd of been better off going to A&W or McD's. I ordered French toast with a side of bacon and a coffee. First came the bacon two minutes before the toast on a separate plate which makes absolutely no sense. Then came the toast which was very dry for it was not dipped right in the milk/egg mixture. Very bland as well for there was no cinnamon or vanilla for flavour. Instead of maple syrup I was given Presidents Choice butter flavoured table syrup. Instead of butter I was given margarine. The syrup was served directly from the fridge very cold on my hot toast. The bottle also was filled right to the top which means they refill/reuse the same bottle for multiple tables which I believe is a food safe no-no. And finally, to top it off, the coffee may have been the dankest weakest cup I have ever had.
If you're going to do breakfast, do it right or don't...
Read moreAfter hearing about this place for nearly 2 decades, and walking by it, we finally decided to eat here. We had their signature Laksa soup and Richard's soup. Now, this isn't so much a damning indictment on the restaurant, as it is the soup, since i don't know much about Malaysian cuisine nor this soup. But, the soup just wasn't my thing. It was like a large bowl of Thai curry with a lot of undercooked and nearly raw vegetables (they should learn about the cooking mantra: less is more). It was a bizarre potpourri of vegetables too: cauliflower, bell peppers, carrots, and mung beans. It just wasn't good. And then the super dry, bland chicken they just tossed in there. The chicken wontons in the Richard's soup were some of the most horrible wontons I've ever had. They were just some thick, hard, balls of chicken wrapped in a wonton. I honestly don't understand the hype for the place. Soup was like barely palatable,...
Read more🍜 Dropped by Mad Mango Café and was seriously impressed! I ordered the Laksa Noodle Soup (XL) and Curry Beef with Rice — both dishes were 🔥 packed with flavor, comforting, and served in generous portions. The laksa had the perfect balance of spice 🌶️ and creaminess 🥥, while the curry beef was rich, tender, and paired perfectly with the rice 🍛.
💰 Pricing is very reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes — definitely great value for money!
😊 The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with friendly and quick service. Perfect spot for a satisfying lunch or dinner.
🔧 The only small suggestion I’d make is that the plates and bowls are starting to show their age and could use a refresh. It’s a minor detail, but updating the serving ware would really elevate the overall vibe.
✅ All in all, a fantastic local gem for hearty, flavorful meals. I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending...
