I must say that we were very disappointed by this restaurant. First of all, if it wasn’t for the bread with butter that they served us, we probably would have all left hungry. Especially, my 6-year old son, who could not eat their food. And he is not a picky eater ! They have no kids menu, they are saying that kids portions would be just smaller for $12 instead of the regular price of $19 and up. But the regular portions were small too ! I ordered for my sun a duck sausage in a crêpe (my son loves duck confit, so we thought that this would be good too). Oh, boy... we were so wrong about that... It was simply disgusting. I tried it too and could not eat it. The soup of the day they served was some broccoli chowder, and it was the worst broccoli chowder I’ve ever tasted. My husband ordered one for himself and I took one for my son. My son only tried a little from his father’s plate and refused to eat it all. I tried it too and it was not good. It was completely liquid with no actual broccoli in it and with no other vegetables. Maybe it was puréed, but it was completely watered down. When we asked the waitress to take away the second soup portion that we got for our son, she looked at us very suspiciously and asked if he touched it. He did not touch it, as he tried it from my husband’s plate (which I did too), but what kind of question is that ?!?! Even if he did try it and he cannot or doesn’t want to eat it, she shouldn’t have asked this question !!! We felt that we would need to go to eat somewhere else right after this so called “restaurant”, but the last straw of this experience was when the waitress started to demand a tip of minimum 15-20%. Seriously ?? Paying $70 for a meal that we’re not happy about and then give a tip of 15-20% ? Moreover, to demand that ????? This was one of the worst experiences we’ve had so far...

Bistro l'arrivage used to be my favorite restaurant in Montreal and I would recommend it to all my visiting friends. It had the beautiful views of the old port, delicious rotating seasonal table d'hotes, and great prices. It was always super busy and required a reservation.

Unfortunately things seem to have changed post pandemic. The prices are now inflated and they no longer have a table d'hote. They charge $14 for soup and $25 for an eggs benny, which is still reasonable (but on the higher end) for the location and food quality. They were also out of ingredients for some dishes on the menu. There were much fewer patrons in the restaurant than my previous visits.

Overall my eggs benny was tasty but the waffle/pork shoulder that my friends' ordered was overly salty.

They also seem understaffed with only 1 waitress manning the tables and preparing drinks for the first 2 hrs that they opened.

To top it off, I had an upset stomach shortly after...

One of the very few places still to be discovered in an over touristic Old port. Although this restaurant still has a lot of wrinkles to iron out, the atmosphere more than makes up for the annoying downfalls that still exist in the daily management of the place. We had drinks and the burger platter which was frankly very good. The parasol terrace was very pleasant with great views over the waterfront area. For now, I'll share a photo taken from our seat at the table, as well as a small video taken from the roof top right above the restaurant. Tip: at first, it is difficult to know how to get to the restaurant. When coming into the museum, immediately turn left and left again to the elevator. Notwithstanding a few services irritabilities, enjoy this still undiscovered gem, you will not regret the experience.

Very nice restaurant with excellent service. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Had the chance to meet Chef Mollé, and he's such a nice person. The food tasted amazing. The attention to details, both from presentation and how each ingredient is adding depth of flavor gives a gastronomic experience to remember. Highly recommended to visit. A nice perk is that it's above the museum, so a nice way to finish a learning experience of Montreal and dine upstairs with a nice view of the old port.
